What Game Did You Play Today?

It took me a second to realize what you said…

Anyhow, I just completed all the campaigns in RE6. It was actually pretty good, but man the voice acting could still be less…hmmm…I can’t quite place the right word to this…

corn on the cob?

I’ve been playing through Bad Company 2 for the past week or so. War Tapes is fucking unbelievable. Also just got multiplayer to work. Don’t give a shit about BC2 main multiplayer, but Vietnam is really fun. Did surprisingly well as a Rank 1 in a Rank 20+ match. I guess you have to start somewhere, and it was the only occupied server anyway.

Finished all of the hostage rescue missions in Blood Dragon last night. Two of the scientists I rescued died shortly after though… One blew himself up, and another got eaten by a tiger… Why did I bother, again? Oh yeah, weapon upgrades

Played Hearts of Iron III again, this time as Nationalist China. I managed to hold back the Japanese for a month or so until my neighbor and ally, Shanxi started losing territory at an exponential rate. I had to pull my troops back, giving up their fortified positions which ultimately lead to the Japanese takeover of my coast and for all the remaining surrounding nations to turn Axis, making any unification process impossible. That’s where I sat for the remainder of the war, in which Germany lost and the Soviets took over most of Europe up to France because Great Britain decided to stage the invasion in occupied Greece, which was shortly cut off by Stalin.

Started playing Fallout: A Tale of Two Wastelands and some Starbound with a friend

Started playing Mafia 1 again. So far I’ve done more driving stuff than anything else. I want to get to some shooting already.

I’ve been playing Oblivion lately, thanks to that character creation overhaul.

People like to whine about how Skyrim was dumbed down and holds your hand too much, but playing Oblivion just reminds me of how much smoother and more entertaining Skyrim is.

Sure, weapons and armor don’t degrade anymore, but who actually misses that?

Same could be said for Far Cry. People tend to complain about how FC3 removed all the risk, tensity, etc. but does anyone actually miss having to walk (or drive, slowly) for ten minutes to a gun store to stop their guns exploding? Progressing a mile while fretting about whether or not malaria will kick in before you can get more pills? The map’s also quite oversized, but that’s not the point here.

Brink, for whatever reason, decided to delete all of my progress, experience points, weapons, skills, abilities and even characters for no apparent reason. I did, however, finally get Borderlands to install, but going from 2 to 1 feels a lot like going straight from Just Cause 2 to Marathon. I have to admit, though; I like the music maybe a bit more in BL1.

Some people love simulation and realism, even when it’s tedious. Trying to play games like DayZ and Arma just end up being boring for me, but some people enjoy it for the challenge or immersion or whatever.

I have started playing Minecraft again. Spent all day building a great base of operations, but then decided it was too big so started again. I feel like such a loser…

Today’s was a full playthrough of everyone’s favorite if-not-complete-bullshit Sonic-flavored Doom mod, SRB2.

Finally finished up “XCOM: Enemy Within.” I’ll have to write some hefty commentary once I’m more conscious.

If I can see my projects from one end to the other than I didn’t make them large enough

Played a little bit of Black Mesa. Still an awesome mod to play.

Are you fucking kidding me?

I can confirm this as well.As old as it is(it was released waaaay back in 2012)this particular mod is awesome to play.

I’ve played mods from the 90’s that are still good.

I’m not kidding. It’s a cool mod. I really enjoy it and I would definitely buy the game when it’s available on Steam.

I don’t get what’s so great about it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
