@SURPLUS_NiNjA on the last page: B2K is Back to Karkand, the expansion for BF3.
shiiiit son! Why are you not using full atx cases, that hardware looks hilarious in that case Sweet tho. What’re temps like? I’m guessing stable but high?
Well because I´ve always used full atx cases be it stock or in most mods, kind of want to try something new : ), the case I´ll be using is even smaller than this one lol.
The temps are ok actually, the i7 is permanently on 4.1Ghz and it doesn´t go avobe 40c while the gpus idle at 56c and dont go over 80c so you know, a bit high, but within safety.
Upgrade that 6770 to a 6950 or GTX 580 or else your card is a serious bottleneck.
fairy 'nuff
I’d love to have myself a full ATX case, but seeing as I move my PC at least once every two months, it’s not really very viable.
Even less so when you understand that by ‘move’ I actually mean ‘carry-with-me-on-a-three-hour-journey-using-public-transport-that-includes-carrying-a-hiking-rucksack-full-of-stuff-and-using-the-london-underground’.
It’s hard enough with my current case, the damn thing is getting heavier each time…
OK for the price (picked it up for about $200-$300), I can pull most source engine games at about mid-high settings with AA enabled.
your ass got DeGrasse’d
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz w/ Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler
MB: Asus P8P67 PRO
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 460 1GB
PSU: Cooler Master GX 750W
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (4x2GB)
HDD: 2 x Samsung 1TB (RAID-0 array) + 500GB spare
CD-ROM: Samsung DVD writer
Monitor: Samsung 23" HD B2330H (1920x1080)
Case: Alienware (had it for about 5 or more years now, brilliant case)
Input: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard and X5 Mouse
OS: Windows 7 Professional
There’s also a RAM cooler fitted, and a few case fans.
I’m pleased with it, can run Skyrim (indeed all the games I’ve got) maxed out and smoothly with no slow down. I HATE playing games not on max and not smoothly.
When I first built it up I couldn’t install Win7 on it. I didn’t check if the motherboard had IDE connectors, it doesn’t and both the CD-ROM drives I had at the time were IDE!
The 500GB spare was to backup my Steam games, but it’s too small. So we might use it in an arcade machine we’re going to build…
My laptop
Have you considered selling it and going for an ITX system? : )
Or just a laptop
HD6850 video
And the rest of the hardware is pretty much minimum…enough to run BC2 and render models decently.
I bought this rig a few weeks before realizing that a real-time GPU rendering program I had my eyes on uses only CUDA cards. Looks like it’s back to render farms for me.
Are you just gaming? Unless you’re going to do some seriously thread-intensive work (video compression/conversion being the classic example), you don’t need an i7. You can trade it in for an i5 2500K, see zero performance hits, and save ~$110.
