For the next couple of weeks, it´s all sitting in an NZXT Vulcan.

for the next couple of weeks? Where’s that case going?

Also thanks Steagle, it is pretty sweet  But notice I don’t really have the desk space for it…one is sitting on my drawing table!

Intel i7 960
8GB 1600MHz Kingston HyperX Blue
Gigabyte 560 GTX 1GB
Antec HCG 520W Gaming PSU
MSI X58 Pro-E - I do not recommend this motherboard, NB and SB overheating issues

You’ll need a stronger gpu to use all the ultra settings, 480/570 GTX or better, for a solid 75fps of course.

Eh not really. I have a 5770 and I run at 1600 x 900 on ultra with the only thing turned down as AA (but post processing AA on) at a stable 40 FPS. It depends on if he wants to run it full 60 fps. Although I think with that card there is still a good chance he could run it ultra 1080p with full 60 or near 60 fps.

Honestly I find that people tend to over estimate the need for having really good parts. Its pretty rare for PC games these days to be overly tasking. The last game I’ve heard of getting negative feedback for being over demanding was crisis. In the 90’s I remember a lot of games got criticized for having high reqs.

I have a 5870 and have most of the settings on Ultra with no AA and I’d say it runs in the 45-60 range. I was worried when it was about to come out but it’s not that hard to play.

BF3 75% of the time, yes, B2K, fat chance. I’d like a constant 60fps, there’s no point buying new pc just to see the frame drop to 30 mid-game, you might as well be playing on the console. If you want to stand a chance against all the other pros out there, especially in a 1 on 1 infantry battle, you can’t have anything holding you back, that’s just my opinion.

AMD Athlon X2 64 6400+
MSI Platinum M9 something or other (I built this back in 2007)
2 Western Digital Raptor HD's 150Gig a piece
SLI 8800 GTX NVidia graphics cards with 1gig ram a card
Mbox Pro2 "Sound Card"
2 Gigs Corsair Ram (80 dollars for 2 gigs at the time)
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition

It can barley run the new Dues Ex Revolution game. Although I have never overclocked my processor. So it could improve a tad I guess.

I'm glad I invested well into my case though. I'm hoping when I'm ready to build a new system I can reuse the case as it has great airflow and can be easily converted to water cooled if the need arises.

It’s an older Cosmos Cooler Master.

AMD Phenom II 1100T BE
Gigabyte Radeon 6970 OC in crossfire
16 GB Corsair Vengeance
2+2+2+1+1TB drives + Force GT 120GB SSd
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula mainboard
850w PSU

Well you see it was never intended to stay in it, it was merely as a space avaliable concept test.

And in a couple of test I´ll be starting my new mod that unlike my previous ones is intended to become my main pc, i.e. this hardware will be used for it : )

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
