Although I am in Ravenholm on my HL2 first-play I’ve remembered something. Near the begining of the game there was a Vortigaunt and a dude in a train compartment. On the TV GMan was making his mysterious appearance. After I’ve done talking with the dude, the Vortigaunt said: “We serve the same mystery”. Could this mean that GMan is also shown to the vorigaunt/the whole vortigaunt species(or whatever)?
Or was he just talking gibberish?
good catch. What is the mystery that he speaks of? Is he saying the folks that employ gman also employ the vorts?
The answers will contain spoilers. Just play through all of the games and stop constantly asking questions here. Play through the games and find out for yourself.
Anything you want to know can be answered at https://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
This is very true.
Finish Episode 2. Then ask any questions you don’t already have answered from that. If it’s known outside of Valve, we’ll answer them.
Less spoilers that way
Well… as everybody else said, try playing through the games. If you want answers, you REALLY need to get to the end of episode 2. Enjoy your first play through.
Allright.
Thanks and sorry.
nah dont be sorry.Just try not to ruin the games for yourself by getting people to tell you shit before you play through it.
even after have played ep2. I did not have any answer of that of we serve the same mistery and… Wait. Now I see it, it happens everytime the vorts go purple to use it’s powers… I will just not tell what it is to don’t f*ck the gamplay of some1 but some of ppl here will maybe know of what I am talking about already.
Lets try not spoiling anything to him ok?
I’ve played through EP 2 and have no idea what you guys are talking about.
do you have adhd?
Ok, I will tell it to you. [COLOR=‘Red’]THOSE WHO WANT TO DISCOVER IT BY THEMSELVES DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT READ THIS, ARE SPOILERS WICH WILL MAYBE RUIN YOUR GAMEPLAY: Is just a possibillity but is the vortessence. By the vortessence Gordon’s life is now ‘‘related’’ to Alyx life. By the vortesssence Gordon and Alyx were saved back on ep1, by the vortessence G-man could not give orders to Gordon in ep1, when did Gordon adquire the vortessence? I don’t know but it seems he adquired it on hl1 when he teleported in front of 3 vorts. It just seems that. [COLOR=‘red’]IF YOU WANTED TO KNOW IT BY YOURSELF AND YOU HAVE READED THIS YOU ARE STUPID AND YOUR GAMEPLAY GOT RUINED
I advertised it, go on your own risk. You can’t blame me if I ruined your gamplay when I told you in red to don’t read it if you wanted your gameplay not ruined.
Cool, but it sorta sounds like a fan theory to me instead of actual fact. I don’t really listen to anything the vorts say because it sounds like spiritual nonsense.
My tip: finish the episodes.
[COLOR=‘Red’]SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS
The vorts and gman are bitter enemies. The vorts hold him hostage in ep1 and gman has to get them preoccupied by healing Alyx in ep2 before he can follow you again.
[COLOR=‘Red’]SPOILER ENDED YOU MAY NOW LOOK
I can’t imagine the vorts being more powerful than the Gman for some reason though.
that’s because they need almost… 8 of them to stop him when he puts some1 on ectasy… they could do nothing more but a shield.
What you should know about the Half-Life series is that nothing is obvious and everything is mysterious. You probably will never get obvious answers to these questions and I imagine that Valve wants us to keep asking questions. By this time, I’m sure people would have figured out the logic behind Half-Life if it would be possible. But since no one has, it can only mean that there simply isn’t enough obvious information, and that there are too many mysteries in the games to find all the answers. This is what keeps the series running and this is what makes the whole thing interesting.
This contrasts with traditional games, where you are given a mission, you know what you have to do, you know why, and you know it when you completed the mission. Then someone comes up to you and says “well done man, you have earned a medal, see you in our next game”. In Half-Life, it’s more like this: you are put in the middle of a situation that offers little explanation, and people say things that refer to other things without explaining much. Then you must figure out most of the game by yourself, and just like in real life, by finishing the game, you don’t always get the answers to all of your questions. This makes the entire thing cool
when you talk of this philosophic and well-explained form, you seem a vort: strange explanation, but concrete.
His post was right fucking above yours. Is the quote really necessary?
