Watch Dogs

Why is the guy who’s new avatar is him blowing a scientists head off with a. .357 magnum arguing against killing civilians in video games?

I agree with maxey and Kairo though. And I’m really still looking forward to this game, even thought they’re kinda changing it a little.

Can we stop attacking each other over nothing please? We really don’t need any more off topic posts in this thread.

Look what Nvidia is advertising for Watch Dogs.

would prefer to hold off on buying a new GPU when Direct3D/X12 is on the horizon especially since i got a fine gtx 660

DX12 is backwards compatible with most high end GPUs I think they said. Should work with yours. Just doesn’t work on Windows 7. Plus no games are going to use it for a very long time. Just look at how long it took for the majority of games to start using DX11.

Graphics cards come with free games as pretty much standard. There’s nothing odd about it.

It’s siting on my Steam library waiting to be activated. Why can’t I just download and play it already?

Waiting for my collector’s edition to arrive on May 27th. Preordered it back in Feb I think.

Watch Dogs is actually going to run at 900p on PS4 and 792p on XB1, both 30fps.

They couldn’t reach 1080p even while sacrificing framerate…

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Just sit as far as you can from the TV and it’s fine, lol.

900p should be totally fine tho, as for xbox, well the solution is simple: don’t buy an Xbox, save your money for a real computer :stuck_out_tongue:

As long as it also uses that sweet AA technique from Infamous Second Son, it should be fine.

On that note, Second Son looks better than Watch Dogs and it renders at full 1080p and runs at over 30fps most of the time.

So either the engine they’re using is not as well optimized or all the systems they have in place for hacking and whatnot require more processing power than Second Son, I guess.

It’s Ubisoft, of course it’s badly optimized. I still have nightmares over ACIV’s first 20 minutes.

This is very frightening. Granted, the game was developed with PC as lead while eighth generation console specs were still up in the air. Perhaps they overestimated the hardware leap and had to cut back in a big way to fit the game onto consoles? On the plus side, this means the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race will get the best version of the game. In theory.

I’m getting it on PC. Gonna be getting full 1080p. :stuck_out_tongue: Not to sound like a bigot or “master race” here but this is pretty much why I’m a PC gamer, you have way more control over your gaming experience. On consoles you get what you get and that’s it, which is why I haven’t invested in any 360, PS3, PS4 or XBox One. My PC is my preferred platform and always will be.
And yeah the game looks pretty downscaled on PS4. I’m curious if my current PC can run it at the maximum level.

Supposedly the game recommends an eight core processor, but that might just be multiple threads on a four core or something. Maxing it out would be quite demanding.

Yeah I only have a quad core Phenom II 3.2 GHz so I’m thinking I can probably run it at medium-high settings but not Ultra/Max.

I have 12 gigs of RAM though and 3 gigs of VRAM on my Radeon R9 280X card. I could try overclocking it too, of course.

Oh Christ. SPOILER WARNING FOR SOME STORY PARTS.

This just reeks of “Management and Marketing are terrified this game won’t sell copies, so let’s delay the game and cram in a bunch of dudebro appeasing bullshit.” Seriously, VR COIN COLLECTION MISSIONS?

That might have made sense if Aiden was wearing some kind of Google Glass knockoff, or if this was added into an open world version of “Remember Me” with a more appropriate aesthetic. It just feels so… disjointed. Random. The studio must have sank ungodly amounts of capital into the game’s development, which makes sense- the original AC didn’t even recoup its production budget until ACII came out. But seriously- it’s so tonally dissonant with Aiden’s story. I have a really bad feeling about this.

I don’t think one mission is going to ruin the overall experience for me personally. If the overall experience is enjoyable enough to complete the game, a few flaws and minor missions aren’t going to ruin it for me.
