Watch Dogs

I heard that this game isn’t that good at all. Pretty disappointing, I didn’t really get on the hype train for this game but it would have been commendable and cool if they would have been able to follow through with what they showed at E3.

Also, as an example of how fucked this game seems, check this out. If you are in evasion mode/are notorious/have a high wanted level/whatever they call it in this game, you can jump into the bay and they won’t be able to catch you. There is literally no coast guard, so you can pretty much just stay there until they give up.

Yeah…Ubisoft and water problems…who can forget insta-death when you jump(accidentally fall ) into it from Assassin’ s Creed…

I feel like they are going to patch this to introduce insta-death into the game once they see this exploit. Like “Hey, dipshit, you got your super techno-wizard phone wet. Great job, moron.”

Also, this game seems pretty cringey with how hard it tries to follow internet lingo. Sure, a reference here and there is fine, but it seems like the number of MLP fanfiction writers, hentai fanatics, and cosplayers in Chicago is unnaturally high. And then there are these signs that you hack. At a certain point, it all just becomes a grab-bag of references which becomes much too dense to be believable.

I don’t know what happened in this games development cycle, but it seems like somewhere along the line it turned into a parody of itself.

EDIT: Of course, as I haven’t played the game I’m not sure if this is something you can do all the time and thus see all the time.

There are a few signs. It’s up to you whether you actually hack them or not. Most of the time you will walk/run/drive right passed them without noticing.

And there are quite a few deviants running around Chicago in the game, but it’s just a random assignment of traits, and you also see way more bankers and life coaches than normal.

Honestly, people are focusing on some weird things to gripe about.

But it is true about the water. That shit needs some looking into by the developers.

Meh. There’s a good mix of different types of people. It’s not like every fifth person is a cosplayer… I’ve only seen a couple of those in the game. I didn’t think that it was trying too hard to keep up to date with the internet. The only blazingly obvious example is the hackable signs, and even then it would have taken them probably minutes to implement them which is like nothing compared to the work spent on the rest of the game, so why not have some fun?

The water is a valid point though. The only threat on the water is the occasional helicopter that strays toward you, and even then, you can evade the helicopter by hiding under a bridge like a troll until everyone forgets that you exist.

PC patch in the works for Watch Dogs; “supporting PC is an incredibly complex task”

Plenty of other people do it right, Ubisoft. You’re one of the ones that can never get it right for some reason. And I see no reason for the game to require 3GB or more of VRAM given the way that it looks. Smells like poor optimization because the consoles give devs breathing room with RAM.

Yeah, PC lead my ass. If it was really PC lead, they would’ve managed a proper and reasonable ram split from the start instead of basing it off the PS4/Xbone setup.

I think the patch will add back in all the nvidia-exclusive features and then it will truly be a poor PC port, right now it’s just a PS4/Xbone game recompiled for PC.

Ah. So some missions do force you to eliminate all enemies rather than run away.

That’s unfortunate. Although stealth killing everyone in clever ways is still really fun.

Fuck me. I cancelled my preorder with Amazon a few days ago.
Limited edition Watch Dogs still shows up on my doorstep and I still got charged. Goddamn it.
I’m on the fence about whether or not to return it. I may have actually gotten a job, will know in a few days after they finish background checking me. So I might have the option to keep it/ pay in full and earn more money to get other things.

I haven’t run into any of those yet, I don’t think.

I haven’t been able to beat the second criminal convoy I tried yet. Moved on ot other things.

I have unlocked all but one ctOS location.

I can’t do anymore random criminal interventions right now. I was running two blocks towards one when two more popped up, so I’m done with them for a bit.

Spending a lot of time free roaming around and gathering collectibles and solving all of the puzzle locations.

Lots of fun to be had. Really enjoying the game.

For the missions that require you to eliminate all enemies, the silenced 1911 + stealthy headshots + lots of distraction hacking is actually really fun.

I was very surprised to see a topless woman in one of the intrusion hacks. That was a very twisted scene…

Insta-fail car stealth missions…well that’s just great…

If that is the early mission where you pick up the guy in his car, yeah, that was annoying… But not that difficult. I hope they were just trying to show how it could be done, and that they don’t force too much more like that later on. I came across another instant-fail later on, but it was just to teach a new tech component of the game. They appear to only insta-fail you in situations like that.

Clearing through open world side quests. I was very surprised to see a topless woman aiming a gun at a half-naked man in one of the intrusion hacks… Was not expecting that at all…

The insta-fail stealth missions are annoying but they only seem to be there when the plot would make no sense if you are spotted, or when they’re trying to teach a gameplay mechanic. So far that’s been the case from what I’ve played so far.

They might be annoying, but they’re not that bad because even if you’re in line of sight of an enemy, it takes around a second or two for them to spot you, AND you’re given a gauge that tells you exactly how much time you have before they “spot” you, which I feel is very lenient.

One thing that’s been seriously annoying me about the game though is the fact that it’s fairly difficult to control when you want to get out of cover. If I’m spotted by an enemy who then proceeds to flank and shoot me or toss a grenade at me, I do NOT want my butt glued to the now-useless cover, Aiden! :meh:

Just noticed something strange…whenever I buy crafting components, coffee and drinks it seems that I am actually getting them for free(unlike cars and clothing)cause the amount of money I had before buying any of those things stays the same…
