well I’m making this topic to see some things and know what ya think about the alien slave (aka: vortigaunts), Alien grunt (or Agrunt) and Alien controller also about the Sven coop Tor

Tor is this guy for those who doesn’t know:

so what I was thinking is that they are very simillar 1 each other (sorry if I didn’t wrote well simillar, is the first time I wrote it…)
I mean all they have a third arm and a lot of eyes, some of them have their own special things, like armor or fire power, but I’ve been thinking and there are some things wich make my head explode of questions when I think about them.

Like the Agrunts, they seem to being ‘‘build’’ in that freggin’ factory or base in xen; and the controller seems a lot like Nihilianth but isn’t so big and doesn’t need that strange flying machine the Nihilianth has.

Also the alien slave and tor seem to be vortigaunts but tor isn’t a slave but of course Tor is from a mod…

so I want to know your oppinnion about this things to see if I found a good or perfect answer for my questions inside my head (every day without answers a combine soldier kills a cat LoL)…

OP is wondering what relatonship the Agrunt, Controllers and Vorts have with eachother, why are the Agrunts built, why are the controllers like nihilanth w/out the flying contranpton, ETC.

The Combine meshes their technology with indigenous species, creating super soldiers adapted for their environment, like they did on earth with the transhuman forces of the Overwatch. Alien grunts are presumably the Combine’s vortigaunt super soldier. The Controllers and Nihilanth are another matter. They don’t seem to be synth at all so they could all be species that developed together on one planet.

I don’t think Agrunts are combine-made since they are Nihilant’s forces but maybe they are Combine made and Nihilanth controls them trough Alien controllers

Well, many theories suggest that the forces of Xen broke off from Combine rule (look at the old Nihilanth, note the scars and machinery, looks like an ex-prisoner from their dominion, a little like Edgar from Area 51)

Makes sense actually. One more question. There’s factory in Xen where Vorts don’t attack you for a few minutes but after Alien controllers show up they start attacking.

I don’t think it’s really control but more of a telepathic relay of commands given by the nihilanth, basically, they’re like foetal, floating radio recievers which nearby Xen soldiers telepathically hear.

It’s quicker to call them Xenians as opposed to Aliens-Who-Aren’t-Native-to-Xen-but-Lived in-Xen-for-a-While-and-Then-Teleported-Here-During-the-Resonance-Cascade-ians.
