Yes, I am being a touch too lazy with this. :expressionless:

Pretty much the FBI found out that some virtual thieves they arrested made a virus that redirects sites through to a fake one only with the same URL as the real one. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of computers around the world are infected with this virus.

There is a certian cut-off date where they will stop supporting the people who are infected and the people who are infected will be unable to connect to the internet.

Most important: People infected with the DNS changer virus will have problems connecting to internet services after the nineth of this July because the FBI is shutting down the servers.

My desktop BSODs unless Iā€™m running my pirated copy of MP3. So I have to keep it minimized all the time, so I have at least some kind of virus.

If I read that right, just going to a website seems to be enough to potentially hurt you.

lol which is a good reason to not start ā€œcheckingā€ my computer on a site given by a guy with less than 100 posts.

From what iā€™ve heard it generally only effects older PCs so its probably not a problemā€¦ probably.

Yeah, I donā€™t really go to too many sites, myself. I mean recently, I have gone to a couple more than usual -following news links from trusted ā€˜subscribableā€™ members of Facebook- but hopefully Iā€™m not that unlucky.

My PC is custom built and is running some rather new hardware, so I hope I dodge this crazy virus. The internet is one of the only reasons I use a computer ā€“ it would suck to lose it for a while. Obviously getting a new cheap computer to surf the web with would be my next mode-of-action, but all-the-same, it would be a pain in the ass.

Just keep a windows setup disc close, or a bootable flash drive, all of my discs get scratched so I moved to usb sticks and SD cards ages ago.

I made it. Even though I did get a nasty virus from a fake download of ā€œSlenderā€. What a foolish mistake.

Well, internet still works. :slight_smile: Max Payne still causes BSODs when itā€™s not running. :frowning:
