Well, they DO deserve it. I mean, Mario is CLASSIC. Same goes for Link. Half Life came on the scene WAYYY later. But still, Gordon does deserve some kind of achievement, doesn’t he?

Just because they were the originals doesn’t mean they are the greatest.

They save the same princess or beat the same boss over and over. So what. Freeman has doomed earth, saved it, doomed it again, and is in the process of saving it a second time.

Theres nothing hardcore about freeman, thats why games such as MGS and halo (snake and Master chief) seem so much cooler.

He’s a mute, borderline psychopathic nuclear physicist with a penchant for slaughtering his way through hundreds of enemies without so much as breaking a sweat (or uttering a punchline) and can carry an arsenal of guns that could wage - literally in his case - a one man war against everything. That’s hardcore.

I feel here might be the best place to rant about this. I just saw a comment in effect saying Freeman shouldn’t win because he has no personality, and then going on to say link should win. What the hell?
