Video Game Graphics (PC vs Consoles)

^^This

Duh.

Yeah, especially when OP is an anonymous newfag (seriously, b727lvlr) and the thread is potential holywar. Just sayin.

troll

besides, this is only my second post in the whole topic, LOL. No need to get worked up.

Damn it people calm the fuck down! It is obvious:

  1. PC Games will ALWAYS have better graphics than the consoles and you will ALWAYS have some 12 year old come on saying “HoW dO i mAKe mY GRapHicS LoOk bEtTEr???”
  2. Heavy likes sandviches.

That depends actually, sure the PC is a powerhouse that can outperform a console without even getting stressed but in the end it all depends on whether or not the developers are willing to include extra features for the PC. If the game is made primarily for the console then that means all the in-game materials used (models, textures, the whole thing) are optimized for consoles. Whether you have a PC or not the graphics would be the same (just look at Dead Space).

The only real advantage would be stuff like ambient occlusion, high resolution, anistropical filtering (and AA depending on what engine) and far more frames per second making the gameplay ‘smoother’.

You’re all wrong. Alyx’s face actor is Will Smith.

First this:

Then this:

Love the irony
Or are you actually confessing?

Frozen island is nice I agree… Although it’s pretty much just an island with white frost on it. A lot more could’ve been done in the way of foliage weighed down with ice and refractive sickles everywhere. Plus it was lit very boringly. I can imagine harsh blue lighting reflecting off the ground from the sky. Caustic effects everywhere (baked if needed). They could’ve put a LOT more time into it actually.

but the alien ship architecture looks… familiar to say the least. I’ve gotta say when I first saw it it reminded me a lot of forerunner architecture from Halo. I don’t give a fuck what you think about the game, some of the similarities are too damn obvious to deny.

PS: “no. just no.” means absolutely nothing. It’s a fucking overused opener and nullifies any following point you want to make.

It should always end at “Just No”

I don’t think there was much ice on leaves, so much as frost from all the air moisture being suddenly squeezed out when it all turned -200F near-instantly. I’m not sure about the snow, probably moisture from more air flowing into the super-cooled sphere. It WAS pretty silly, though, how just about everybody who fell victim to the freeze took a silly overdramatic pose.

What the fuck is that from?

Animaniacs? Pinky and the Brain? Wait. That was on kids WB.

fml. It all looks so familiar too.

Freakazoid!

That’s the one with Candlejack right? I never got a cha

I was a millimeter away.

Fucking miss that show.

Maybe if computers ever go back to a more controlled system and less customizable like they once where this argument would make sense. Otherwise its stupid because computers are never the same they are constantly changing and becoming better, something a console doesn’t.

Don’t say it!!

You can’t tell me this video does not look gorgeous.

No. Just no. It expresses extreme disagreement with the aforementioned point. As a side note, the alien parts had no resemblance at all to Halo for me.

Video Game Graphics in not so good as The Computer Game Because they Don’t Support any kind of Graphic so It’s clarity and Sharpness is not so good as in the Computer or Play station.

The problem is that the modern graphics-trained eye can see a hundred and one ways that it still doesn’t look “photo-realistic”. I mean yea, it looks neat, but I don’t really know where I was going with this reply.

Bot or babelfish? The eternal question.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
