“Handy Graphic Shows Video Game Console Cost Adjusted For Inflation Up To Current-Gen.”
I had 15 of those consoles out of listed 24. 62.5% of them.
Inflation’s a bitch, huh?
I only have 3 of those. (N64, GC, PS2)
Im not really a console collector though.
I have had six of those consoles, including the Intellivision which was the third most expensive? Wow…
I still have the SNES, N64 and PSX somewhere in the house.
I also still have the N64, Atari 2600, Sega MegaDrive 2 and the Game Cube.
The Sega had pretty fun games, also one of my favourite consoles ever.
All I have left is a Wii U.
I’ve owned every Nintendo console since the SNES, a PS2, a 360, and a PS3. However most of them either actually belonged to my brothers or I purchased second hand…in fact now that I think about it, the only console I’ve ever bought brand new myself has been the Wii U. Huh. Never realized that before. I still have all those consoles except for the N64 which my brother took, and the Wii, which I sold after not using it (doesn’t even matter much now since Wii U has backwards compatibility). The SNES doesn’t even work anymore but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it…
rather pay $1000 for a high-end pc now
than pay $1000 for a console tomorrow
Well, good thing consoles never cost that much, eh?
I haven’t owned one of those ):
The first VHS player was US$1,400 when it was released in 1976. Adjusted for inflation, the VCR would be US$5,734.
I have a PS2 and that’s it.
Only consoles I’ve had are the PS2 and PS3. Got both fairly late in their life cycles.
Launch price of the 60GB PS3 in Australia: $999.95 AUD
Australia is always the exception, mate.
I have 3 of those game consoles: The Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox, and the Wii.
Same - Ps4 is between 900 and 1000 USD here.
That’s a ridiculous price. Why do game consoles cost so much in Austrailia?
I don’t know about australia, but here it’s because of import fees.
