No, we can’t.
Can’t you start punching some bitches? Or alternatively get all Australian gamers rallied up. Oh wait gamers, laziness, I forgot.
Great attitude Coll! That’s defiantly going to make changes for the better.
Most people are too lazy to stand up for their rights. If they are motivated to do something though, they may join in… but otherwise, it’s just people whining about it but don’t do anything about it.
When the fact of the matter is, the person preventing this will have to either be voted out of office or die for us to get a chance at a R18+ rating.
So far there are no other candidates, there is one, purely for having an R18+ rating, but on such a small platform they will never get voted in.
So our best bet is if he dies.
they shud ban games so parents dont have to worry about kids playing bad games. then the world is safer :freeman:
If I could easily walk into a shop and pay to watch a man get tortued on DVD but not buy it on a game something is seriously wrong, its double standards. If you’re going to ban video games showing a little violence why not go the whole hog and ban movies and music too. Its not the medium its the individual, the only thing they should really worry about is educating the parents who are buying these games for their kids
Yet they don’t ban pedophiles. :3
Codgin, remember when they started blaming rock music for their children acting out? Same thing with games.
Ban music? Since when has music been violent?
Unless your talking about that guy who cut his ear off onstage… But that wasn’t supposed to happen I don’t think.
Oh minotaur, you really don’t know much about all the music bans do you?
I’m English, we blank out anything that we don’t like, unless its our government, In which case MI5 and a healthy dose of chloroform comes into play.
Lets just say that they still ban music.
Anyways, this is the same idea of how rock was rotting the children. Parents don’t know how to raise their children so they use games as an excuse for their clear inability to be parents.
Quite ironic considering its them that allow their child to play the games in the first place.
Wait a second, I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember that L4D2 was banned in Australia because it included… gasp DIVERSITY in the zombies?
HOW HORRIBLE!
Funny thing I notice, they say this whole thing is “for the children”, when in fact the game is rated M and the gaming industry is the leading industry to uphold the rating system.
LONG LIVE HYPOCRISY AND ILLOGICAL FALLACIES!
Ban this sick filth!!! Ban this sick filth!!!
What I don’t understand is how videogames get such a bad rap, but if a movie is made that glamorizes murdering people or stealing cash, no one complains.
See if I had their mentality, I would begin calling movies “TRAINING VIDEOS FOR MURDER” but see, I’m not a retard. They just need a scapegoat, and games happened to be there as a new medium.
What I find funny is that every form of entertainment has been criticized by people at its highest point of glory. Soon enough, when the next form of entertainment comes out, there’ll be a mass exodus of people who move on from video games to said new form of entertainment, and start criticizing that, claiming that it’s the tool of the devil, and video games will be forgotten by them.
People are stupid. Jack Thompson in particular.
Video games are entertainment. In the hands of a normal person who is mentally stable, it’s the same as TV or a movie.
Hell, video games save lives. It’s how I work off stress. And being a computer nerd in a school full of computer illiterate people who happen to also be intolerant, I get a lot of stress. I haven’t snapped because of video games.
I wish these people would get off their high horses. Just because you don’t like something, does not mean it’s evil. :retard:
EDIT: The people who do school shootings are not mentally stable. It does not matter if they play games or not, if they’re unstable they’ll pick up a gun and go to town no matter what. There have been people like that forever, games have nothing to do with it.
