Yea, I was “surprised” that no one threw something at Gabe’s head. However, thank god PS3 users will finally get a taste of a REAL game!
Valve is among the worst companies when it comes to release dates. Sure, the games are great, but when there are companies that can release 5 games in the time it takes Valve to make 1, and the games are of decent-excellent quality, then there’s a real failure to communicate.
On the other hand, 3D Realms just can’t get around to releasing Forever, so they’re just as bad in that regard.

Well, what’d you guys expect? Valve already said that it wasn’t EP3, Icefrog game or new Source engine, and that the surprise would be Portal 2 related…

I liked the trailer but I think they decided to give the PS3 owners a taste of what’s possibly the best Video Game developer, which most people ar gonna be pissed about…
Why would Valve change their opinion of the PS3 so radically? I’ll be playing Portal on the PC anyway, but they went from absolutely thrashing the PS3 to having it be the home of “the best console version of Portal 2”
MEybe teh suprise was teh new source engine, already watched it 10x in hd, and i see motion blurr, advanced dof, full dynamic lighting, screen space ambient oclusion ( or meybe its just fancy vide editing, but hope not ) and full normal map support, and some fancy stuff ligke light rays.
Dont remember it doing all that before.
