Valve: "We are not done with Gordon Freeman's adventures"

Given that the time between Episode 2 and 3 is almost equivalent to the time between HL1 and 2, does this suggest a change in engine, or at least an overhaul?

To me, that seems to be the only thing that can cause such a massive delay, when all signs point to Valve being one of the most financially successful game producers of all time.

So u think HL3 ? or EP3 on source 2 ?

I think HL3 is possible. I think by now they might have looked at their episodic model and decided it really doesn’t cut it. Only a few companies can pull it off; otherwise it’s just a team going “GAAAAH I can’t keep working on this!! Let’s put SOMETHING out, and work on the rest later.” Seems to happen a lot for mods now…I rarely ever see “Blablablah The Mod: Episode 2”

Havent HL3 been confirmed yet ? I believe I saw that a while ago.

HL2EP3 is supposed to be the end of HL2, and I hard it would be as long as the original game … so much theories, so little real facts :stuck_out_tongue:

Prove it.

Doug said the same thing in an 2008 interview.

Whatever. The longer it takes, the better it’ll be.

that remains to be seen. though chances are high that this will apply considering it is valve we’re talking about.
I still hope it will come out tomorrow as a gag for april the first

Absolutely not. They’re working with other source games…Maybe EP3 project was frozen.

they wouldn’t freeze half life 3,first of all because it is what we are all waiting for. Second, they are 260 people at Valve… Why would they stop working at Hl? So many people can’t work on a single game.

Well, maybe EP3 but not Half-Life 3 project, I believe that much time has passed for release a episodic version of Half-Life 2. I think that Valve only will be released Half-Life 3 instead of an episode of only 4 hours long.

Yes, you have to wait bro, maybe reveal something this E3 or after that Portal 2 is well squeezed by everyone, so Valve has no other choice but to reveal some good information about Half-Life 3.
PS: excuse the delay in answering your question

Half-Life 3, for sure.
As I said, much time has passed for release a episodic version of Half-Life 2.

Holy fuck, learn to edit your posts. You’ve just triple-posted!

Yes, a good job takes time, dedication and effort.

Ok, I think what you mean, you mean put a lot of quotes in one post, is not it?

when HL3 comes, i hope it is as revolutionary and epic as HL1 and HL2 was.

have you ever heard of that gamer magazine i dont remember the name but someone said that valve and that magazine is like bros and the magazine said

its revealed and valve has shown them pictures og gamplay videos or something only thing i know is that there is not gonna be a half life 2 episode 3 there is gonna be a Half-Life 3

Well what if one of their surprise are both EP3 and HL3 released at once ?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
