Valve vs Blizzard

^ I thought it was Mr. T they were using to promote World of Warcraft…

They’re using both.

Yup, Mr T was earlier but more recently they’re using Chuck Norris. They also used Ozzy for a time.

They also used that terrible graphics goblin thing that pretended to dance…

Oh, hey, lets look at Natural selection. The first one was made for the GoldSrc engine.

Then came NS2, a commercial product, but it isn’t going to be made for the Source engine (Which Valve licensed to them). Its gonna be made by a custom made engine. And guess what? Valve isn’t going against the team, saying that it’s their property just because it was a mod made on the GoldSrc engine.

Valve is one big greedy Corporate bastard.

L4D wasn’t even their game originally, it was made by TurtleRock and Valve got it from them. But the people who worked on those mods either agreed to let valve have them or were hired by valve. There isn’t anything Corporate bastardy about that, if they had sued them for it yes but they didn’t just two groups making deals. It’s not like they buy up everything that gets made on their engines either. They allowed the dev of Dear Ester to use the engine to make a commercial game if I recall correctly for free.

I think he had to buy a license for the engine (which gave him the possibility of using the portal 2 engine).

Valve = Less douchie

Blizzard = More douchie

Drown on the ass

I just wish Blizzard hadn’t such a tight and greedy grip on the digital versions of their games and allowed them to be sold on other sites.

Their old games are still shockingly expensive.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
