Epic’s closing down?
No, but HL3 is coming out on the next generation of consoles.
It’s been over 4 1/2 years since the release of HL2-Ep2. Valve showed nothing about HL3-Ep3/HL3 at E3 2011 or, as has been stated, won’t either at the upcoming E3 2012. They should be embarrassed at treating their fans and one of their most beloved franchises in this manner. IMO, they’ve dropped the ball big time in so many areas concerning HL3-Ep3/HL3.

IMO i feel that prolonging the wait period between the games kind of takes away from the series just because its not really fresh and the anticipation dissipates a little since its not really fresh in my thoughts.
Although counterpoint to my own statement before I get hassled, I beleive that HL is one of the only games that has such a following where anticipation could stay kindled for 6 or so years.
Yeah, right. They could never encounter problems through the development, because everything always works right.
Why should they be embarassed? The majority of websites with their fake stuff about Half Life are treating the fans.
Valve will announce Half-Life: The University Years, where you maneuver Gordon through the hallways of MIT to his classes and keep him from getting into trouble during completion of his frat pranks. The G-man appears as the university Dean. The Special Edition of the game comes with a Diploma, a pewter headcrab keychain and a book entitled “Raising The Tuition”. If you pre-order, you get an extra level… “Cheerleaders: Pom Pom Paradise”.
Screw the fake stuff. We’re long overdue for some truth from the horse’s mouth, not the horse’s ass, like we’ve been getting.

Am I the only one interested in steam big picture mode? I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll come with splitscreen support.
As for HL3, my guess is we’ll get a wild surprise with a quick release date. I’m completely sick of games making announcements and releasing footage practically a year early. Rather than building hype it does the exact reverse to me. I get excited about the game and then forget it exists by the time it actually rolls around. And who gives a shit if it’s called HL3 or EP3? The name means nothing to me, but if I had to bet my guess is the name will be HL3 so that’s what I’ll call it. I’m really hoping for a huge overall of the sauce engine. It’s my silly hope that HL3’s graphics will be as revolutionary as HL2’s was back in the day. And I really doubt we’ll see a Sauce 2 engine, Valve’s invested so much into this one.
