Uncharted 2 VS. MGS4

ok i like both but my friends are always trying to convice me that Metal Gear Solid 4 is better

what is better?

In terms of character animation, Uncharted 2 is probably better than any game released to date.

In terms of the overall game, no idea. MGS4 was fun but I prefer 3.

They’re not even the same type of game though are they? I haven’t played Uncharted 2 though I’ve heard that it was kind of a letdown compared to the first one since they focus more on the shooting than the puzzles. I loved MGS4 though.

Both.

I honestly thought Uncharted 2 was fucking amazing.

Let me answer your question with another question: Is toast better than a Mercedes SLK?

Seems like a silly comparison? That’s because MGS4 and Uncharted 2 are completely different games. One is a heavily plot-driven miniseries, made up of 16 hours of cutscenes interspersed with 12 seconds of gameplay, whereas Uncharted 2 is a Prince of Persia/Indiana Jones platforming hybrid. If you like climbing cliffs, listening to witty dialogue and trekking through the Amazon, then go for Uncharted 2. If you like FPS-stealth type games, then go for MGS4, but its really a personal choice and no objective standard could ever compare the two.

God, this exaggeration about MGS’ cutscene lengths really gets annoying.

I know, I’m fine with a little Pre-Render if it helps to add to the AWESOME storyline of the series.

And if any of you havn’t played a single other game in the MGS series, shame on you. :expressionless:

I’ve tried out MGS4 on the PS3, I don’t own it, I own 2 and 3, played 1. MGS4 was very fun, plenty of tweaking for the game’s arsenal, etc. Enemy AI was actually smart compared to previous titles.

Haven’t tried Uncharted 2.

Don’t forget the enemies can see 5 feet infront of their face. :stuck_out_tongue:

Uncharted 2 by a country mile.

The length doesn’t need to be exaggerated. Its is already ten times larger than any game’s cutscene length should be.

It’s a story driven game. I know that the cut scenes can be pretty long but they’re enjoyable, at least for me.

To each his own. I just oppose it because I think a game needs to be a game, not a movie.

Then don’t play Indigo Prophecy or Heavy Rain.

:frowning: Uncharted 1 and 2 both sound like games I would enjoy, but I don’t have a PS3, so I can’t play them.

i preferred metal gear solid 4 for the fact that it held the answer to questions that i had back from the first game.

uncharted was good but it doesn’t have a overarching plot

p.s.

neither beats bioshock… :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually I like both, I only played the co-op in the full version of the product about once, 1 survival mode. I’ll need to find time to start digging into it. I’m sure it’s great. Uncharted 2 is probably one of the most important games for the PS3. Little Big Planet, MGS4, and Uncharted 2, I’d say. We’ll add GOW3 and GT5 to that list if they turn out.One thing that you can’t deny about the PS3 is that it has some damn good exclusives. Just like you can’t deny the 360’s damn good online service (even with that cost). Great to see that they are keeping the game alive.

MGS4 is strictly for those who played the other 3.
And honestly, 4 sucked compared to 3 and 2.
MGS2 is still the best MGS to date.

But that’s irrelevant.
If you simply want to have fun, buy Uncharted.

MGS2 was probably my least favorite MGS title actually. I mean, you didn’t even get to play as Snake except for the first 20 minutes. Though the end was pretty cool, I prefer the end to MGS4, especially the last battle and the little bit before it. I also love the title screen :retard: .

-MGS4 if you want heavy story (an amazing story at that)
-Uncharted 2 if you want an action game.

I would take MGS4 because it’s not only a great game, but a great story. I think MGS is the only other game series that can even come close to the Half-Life series in terms of telling a story.
