Trying out Cinematic Mod

Sooo, I got it into my head to give Cinematic Mod for Half Life a try.

I’ve read several comments of people saying that, if you configure it correctly, the character models will stay true to the original.

I want to experience Half life in pimped up graphics, but without too many changes to the game itself. So no porn actress Alyx, no blue zombies, no fresh out of hollywood rebels.

Can anybody who has experience with Cinematic Mod suggest what version to install and how to configure it?

this… trust me :expressionless:

'nuff said

Get v7 or soemthing for the maps and then if you want HD people that don’t look like shit, try out anything prior to v4

ask siggs.

When you play it, you’ll understand why the BM devs have denied the creator.

Version 9 stays pretty true to the original while improving the graphics a lot, anything above fucks up the style. You’ll also need to install a bunch of Source SDK’s to get it working

CM is seriously not worth the effort.

CM bashing is getting really old… Seriously…

Well wait for version 11 its brighter.

err…what?

Poor Siggs will be forever confused with Triggs.

Every version comes with a fucking character configurator.

Well, for what it’s worth…

Drop this mod
Use HL2 update
Install some select HD weapons
Install some of the really early fakefactory environment/character HD textures
?
Profit!

I’m not using it only because my current lappy has half the required RAM amount.
Guy doesn’t seem to know or care how to optimise his stuff.

I don’t think those old models will work after the HL2 engine update though

As far as I know Black Mesa won’t even run as long as CM is installed.

^ FUCKING WAT

you can’t be serious right now, and if you are, i’d seriously consider getting yourself sterilized

Well, tell that to my computer at uni, and my computer at home, across 3 seperate installs which I’ve been using to play HL2…

just

like

that.

  1. Delete cinematic mod
  2. ???
  3. PROFIT!
