Why do people think Crysis is fun? The thread’s kind of got a trollish purpose, but the question is genuine.
Because it takes a bit of strategy to not get killed every second.
Though, really, most people say that they hate it are the consolefags who’ve never played it, and will never play it. And most of the remaining group are people who don’t think it sucks, but just think it’s mediocre.
That’s like me asking why you like Halo. You and Johnkiller get all butthurt when people bash Halo and Metal Gear Solid, but go around and do it to other people with games they like. Everyone on earth except for people whose first FPS was Halo know that it’s the most mediocre shooter ever, yet people still continue to play it.
Crysis is fun.
And I played through halo 3 on legendary with 3 other people in co-op (I’ve heard that’s the most fun you can have in halo) and I still think halo doesn’t deserve it’s fame.
oh no master chief is dead oh wait he’s not dead NO SHIT HE’S THE PROTAGONIST who would even fall for that?
I don’t want to speak for everybody, but I like Crysis and Halo because I appreciate pulchritudinous visuals/art style more than I care about groundbreaking, revolutionary gameplay and/or riveting storylines. While things like plots and functionality do greatly improve a game, they are not always necessary.
I think all depends on your idea of what is fun. Some people think watching television is fun, and would rather watch reruns of Spongebob than play what PCfags deem quality video games.
You can usually find entertainment in even to most terrible games if you learn to appreciate subtle details that the developers waste time putting into the game. I’m not going to give examples.
Final Statement: The multiplayer beta for Halo Reach is more fun than Team Fortress 2 or Half-Life Deathmatch.
Well, no shit. You played the worst one.
I Have crysis, dude. I beat it. Twice.
I hang on for the story, but stopped giving a shit when they went for the tired old “military guy vs scientist and military guy ends up being wrong” cliche.
Then again, Jester’s whole character turned me off storywise. Want a fucking stereotype? THERE’S ONE!
But seriously. Explain why the game is fun. I just can’t see it. Promote it. Without demoting others if you even can.
Shit. Doublepost. Coulda sworn that was an edit.
you can pick people up, throw them, and shoot them. You can die from punching a turtle.
Someones going to [COLOR=‘Red’]hell.
That’s good. When picking up actually works… or was a useful gameplay element for that matter.
I must admit, I love dying in crysis. especially from really stupid causes.
You can throw a crab at KPA and they’ll fucking freak out. That’s about as useful as it gets.
It’s rather like Far Cry, really. I loved Far Cry, and I like Crysis a lot.
I liked farcry too.
RAGE RAGE RAGE Someone dislikes Crysis. RAGE RAGE RAGE
So, yeah, unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful.
I love Crysis for:
- Stunning visuals
- Almost realistic physics (minus the turtles)
- Suit dynamics
- Day/night cycles
- Ability to modify weaponry
- Prop physics (throwing barrels/rocks/KPA)
- Using enemies as shields (not new, but punch+throw is fun)
- Destructible environment (including massive vehicle explosions. Realistic? No. Fun? Yes!)
- Replayability. I’ve played through Crysis at least 4 times (2 times after installing the Triple C mod) and never played the same way twice
Read OP again. I’m asking for reasons. Not denying they exist.
Same i bought farcry 2, its not as pretty, and the gameplay is almost like they missed out a few sensitivity options, the first one was very lush with bright blue sky green jungles and beautiful water.
He said Farcry TOO. As in, Far Cry, as well. Not the sequel to Far Cry.

this
Well, I am getting this game now.
Hi. I’m in South East Asia and VERY VERY FEW people know about half-life, halo, Crysis, Far Cry, etc… btw there’s no Xbox LIVE here…
The people here only cares about DOTA. I invite them to play Halo, C&C3, L4D, etc… and all of them would refuse and say that I should just play DOTA. I’m sick of DOTA. Even now, my classmates cut classes, or pretends to go to school just to play DOTA. They even choose DOTA over girlfriends. I insult DOTA and they would trash talk me.
I want them to know about other great games but… I don’t know how.
What the fuck is DOTA and why should we care?
