Things you DON'T want to see in BM.

Yes, but that’s the introduction to tripmines; it teaches the player that laser sensors aren’t something they want to touch. Therefore, that scene should not be in this thread, because it should be in BM.

In that scene, the scientist is running away in a panic (“Oh my God, we’re doomed!”) and quite probably didn’t see the tripmine laser until it was too late.

Yeah if you were a scientist just trying to do your work one day and millions of aliens starting killing everyone and then the military comes to kill of the rest of the workers you’d be pretty panicky too and prone to making a mistake like that.

I don’t want to see Hamsters in Black Mesa.

I don’t want to see:

Testicles
Shotgun haters
David Icke!

Unless they’ve drastically revamped the Gonarch I think you’re out of luck.

There’s a lot of places I don’t want to see hamsters.

i just thought of something experimental i think you all will find interesting. what if… yes, what if… we didn’t see ANYTHING. what if gordon was blind. that would revolutionize gaming. think of it! the screen is black all throughout the duration of the game. i think it would make for a lot of exciting situations.

That was already done.

The game was called Doom 3.

Yes, yes, you’re so clever.

a cutaway scene with dinosaurs in a submarine in space exploding into a volcano.

it would seem out of place.

yes you are right, I’m sorry
my post was related to the one by xalener, it wasn’t a “thing I do not want to see in BM”
hopefully no one else missunderstood it like that

I don’t want to see being blind

I’d rather not see the Source Engine AI make guards and scientists walk in front of ceiling and floor turrets.
Or hear scientists screaming ‘COMBINE’ whenever they see a HECU Grunt aiming down their sights at them. Although that would be amusing.

you know, i seriously doubt they recorded a “combine” line for the scientists

who knows, perhaps the dev responsible for new npc’s just used the vanilla rebel or citizen from hl2 as a base and just reimported everything 'cept the textures and models :stuck_out_tongue:
I was joking, by the way ^^

i dont want any guns or violence in BM, i just want to have gordon go to a normal day at work, they test the sample its a success then gordons done for the day goes home has a beer and watches tv

No clogs on gordons feet an eh better not be colourblind, how will we tell the difference between orange and green portals.

that is actually an awesome idea
to be honest, I somehow enjoy the parts (generally in games) BEFORE disaster strucks most, but in most games they are just short (well as it’s meant to be I guess, since they are sold as action games).
Somehow it’d be awesome to have an extra chapter showing the day before the disaster, just a usual day at work for gordon, making preparations for the “big day” and stuff

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
