New Year is going to be fun.

I’ve been working on this story for years now, it’s about Egyptian curses or…in particular the curse of the Hom-Dai, am currently making the 3D scenes and characters, if you’re interested here’s some pics.

and…yes everything’s done by me

Weeelllllllll…as long as we’re promoting our shit:

Mine is called Companions of Shamashek, an epic tale based heavily on Mesopotamian religion, architecture, and customs. It takes place in a world totally separate from ours, where deities truly exist without question and humans may summon powerful Companions for aid. It focuses heavily on the journey and exploration of the main character through the world, and relies on a great deal of lore.

Here’s the map of the continent of Shamashek, where most of the story takes place:

And here’s the most recent version of chapter 1, plus deity bios.

you on Mesopotamia and me on Ancient Egypt, that’s great ;D

Scribblenauts.

I actually wrote an intro for a science fiction story of mine that opens with two characters meeting by chance in a huge, self-contained city built on an inhospitable planet. One of them starts moping about how depressing and artificial and consumerist he thinks the city is, like you’d expect a dystopia to be, then the other character basically tells him off on it and points out that the city actually an amazing feat of engineering.

Neat stuff!

In other news, I just went to see the hobbit. I thought it was awesome. :awesome:

I heard it’s a quasi-religious experience.

Not that I noticed. In what way? It wasn’t nearly as serious as LOTR, it was just fun I thought.

lol I mean people thought it was just awesome.

oh hahaha okay. Yeah, I’ve got some friends that watched it multiple times on opening day. That’s a little nuts I think, though I would like to see it again, hopefully in the theater.

Is the 48 fps version better? I watched it on 24 fps

Yeah you’re a hobo.

No HFR 3D theaters near enough to me for me to have bothered when I first watched it. I may go watch it again just to see it in HFR.

There’s exactly one theater in my state that’s playing in 48FPS, and it’s in Albuquerque.

People make jokes about that place being the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, but that part of the country manufactures the best meth, so maybe I can watch it when I pick up next.

Wonder how close it is to the Black Mesa Research Facility.

…but then, they specialize in morphine, not meth.

We don’t know for sure. [COLOR=‘Black’]IT IS a secret base by all means

[COLOR=‘Black’]Half-Life was actually created by the government as a coverup to mask the successful squandering and silence of the containment breach of the real Black Mesa facility

Now remade in glorious HD

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
