The Security Guards and Scientests

Which is why I said if I made the game, the combine would always beat the rebels 1 on 1. :hmph:

I knew some one was gonna say that. In my civilian job I am a security officer at a nuclear power plant. In a fire fight the element of surprise always creates a huge advantage. You have to realize MOST people who do armed security are usually ex-military, national guard/reserves (for those who don’t know what that is it’s basicly like a part time soldier who trains on the weekends unless deployed), and ex-law enforcement. People who have worked in those fields tend to carry over what they have learned in their previous lines of work and apply them to their job in security.

Yes. But then again it’s only a game.

fix’d

will there be female securities and HECU? there will for the scientists, but im just curious about those 2.

(dont know why but i have a feeling that this post is going to get flamed)

edit, oh look, with this post i just became a houndeye, i like them, they are like dogs, puppies
wouldnt mind having one for a pet, but he’d only attack if i said so

There will not be female guards or soldiers.

I guess The Javid’s right… I mean in all seriousness, I’ve never heard a police Officer or any guards ever “jingling” as they walked. :frowning:

Yeah, like if a well-trained soldiers from a superior race would defeat an untrained human who probably never took a weapon before in a 1 on 1 combat :hmph:

please, mr. someguy, gugmilare, leave the Combine soldiers vs Rebels argument to your Personal messages, Okay?
BAck on topic.
I think it would make a little sense to see a few sci’s have some bit of personalization to their work spaces (I.E. a few sticky notes on computer monitors, a dipping bird, magazine ETC.) to give the labs the look of having been used recently.

I’m fairly sure they’ve done that anyway.

I would love to see riot shield security guards, shotgun armed, magnum armed security guards.

  • the un-vested and un-uniformed security guards and scientists that were see in blue shift.

PS: I would love to see cameos of otis before the incident and him blowing away aliens with his desert eagle.

Woah, thread bump much?

Most of this stuff is confirmed on the wiki but whatever:

The security guards are armed with the Glock pistol as standard but some may be equipped with better weapons in certain areas.

Security guards uniforms come with a variety of attachments, which chop and change between each one you meet. I’m not sure if there will be any without their vests or scientists without lab coats.

No Otis.

There was at some point security guards without vests. There’s a screenshot somewhere. I dunno if there still is or not.

Edit: Actually, I don’t think there was.

Makes sense. Otherwise you’d have to put up with:

A. Coding different levels of damage resistance.
or
B. People complaining that you didn’t code different levels of damage resistance.

idk if this was said or not but i am a big, long time fan of the, action packed, half life series but there is one thing that i cant stand. its the fact that everyone look and sound the same, now half life 2 did an ok job with this with the face randomizer but they still sound the same… now i no im just one person with my own opinion but if its no too late but could you guy do something about that it would be amazing

ps: something always worryed me about half life… how come there are no female scientiets if that could be fixed too that would cool too

Half-Life 2 does not have a face randomizer, BM does. One voice per NPC type. Female scientists are in.

These questions are better suited for the “Got a Question?” thread though.

donno if its been said before but anyone know if the security guards/ scientists will be anything like the rebels in hl2 where they can pick up wep upgrades instead of just having the pistol?

Taken from the Wiki entry.

Also on the Wiki.

That means that scientists could be using weapont too? that would make more sense. Also would be nice to see barneys using shotguns and killing stonger enemies.
