The Missing Mod?????????

Well i am basically new to the whole halflife story as i didnt paly the first 3 till 2007-2008 and just got Half-Life2 this year. However even long before that I had been a fan (Youtube got me addicted to Half-Life). Just about any Half-Life fan worth a load of dirt knows about the 7 hours war and tons of movies (most suck) on it… However why not a mod. There are mod for alot of things 99% not even haveing to do with Half-Life or just barely. So why not a mod for the 7hours war. I mean if people are affraid at makeing a bad mod theres no way they can make it as bad as Awakening (take it away mommy take it away) Maybe some of you other guys can enlighten me as to why there is not a mod for this or if theres one being made ??? :frowning: :meh:

The answers to your curious mind is one: there may not be a mod that matches your “idea” yet because someone hasn’t thought of it or decided to make it yet… i guess… and two: idk if one is being made but its certainly not being, or will be, made here. BM:S only. :slight_smile:

You know what I did? I went to https://www.google.com

Then I typed in “seven hour war mod” and pressed search.

Then I clicked on the first search result, and it told me all I needed to know!

There was an attempt at making a Seven Hour War mod, but it looks like its been scrapped.

Awakening was not that bad of a mod. If it was a really sucky, stupid, bad and evil mod as you think it is, then why is it hosted on the list of HL2 mods on Steam? There are a lot worse mods out there than Awakening. Valve had to like it to have it on Steam so it is not that bad in Gabe Newell’s opinion. If you want to play the best HL2 mod of all time, play Minerva: Metastasis. You have to install Half Life 2: Episode One before you can play it though.

Seven: Episode(Seven Hour War) is process slowing, it still alive, so don’t worry.

I honestly don’t get the appeal of a Seven Hour War mod. It’s seven hours long, set during a time we know nothing about, against enemies we can assume are the combine minus the soldiers, no obvious benefits to gameplay or story, and in the end you loose.

What’s the appeal aside from being a half-baked fanfic in the form of a game?

I was also part of a 7hr hour mod, but it died because me and intooblivion were the only two people who did any real work on it.

This. Honestly, it would be for the Half-Life franchise what Episode III was for the Star Wars franchise. No one likes it when the good guys lose in the end.

I was on a 7 hour war mod team as well as a programmer. I have the outline (bsly a fanfic) of the mod next to me. It’s pretty funny. I’ll scan it some time.
I did no work though, I came up with some ideas, and then bailed, because it had nothing going for it.

Not true. Only the average american likes when the good guys always win and most every movies/games choose the good side.
Bad guys win every time in real life and have better charism than your so called good heros (most of them are extremely lucky, face dumb ennemies and are regulary over the average joe in term of strength/courage/cleverness).
Plus how rules until the good guy shows up ?

Not to mention Darth didn’t win in any movie except the original film. And there’s only really 2 good movies out of the six.

There are lots of mods about the Seven Hour War. But they’re still in developement, and most will turn out either sucky, either they wont be ever released
