The Last Film You Saw.

Bridge to Terabithia was on TV the other night. It’s funny how the trailers all made it out to be this CGI action-packed movie about kids in a fantasy world, when the movie is really just a freakin depressing tear-jerker. Especially after the twist, which I didn’t remember from the book - if I even read it - but even before that it’s pretty soul-crushing. Good overall, but not at all what I was expecting, since like I said, the trailers were really misleading and if I ever read the book I don’t remember it.

I was so happy it stayed close to the book. I saw it on TV a couple months ago and felt the same way, that its previews were loaded with shit. What a relief, too. I remembered that twist since I read it in class 12 years ago and was glad to see it faithfully put to film.

Stop complaining about Dark City. It is FUCKING AWESOME.

The most recent film I’ve watched was Tangled. I thought it was pretty good, to be honest; nice animation. Usually in movies like this with an animal sidekick that has human-like characteristics, the animal is extremely annoying (and then the studio releases spinoffs based on those sidekicks, a la, the minions from “Despicable Me”). But thankfully, it was not the case with the chameleon in Tangled.

Just wish they would’ve fleshed out the king and queen more, but enh. 3 stars out of 4.

The Bourne trilogy, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. They are all totally awesome.

Great movie and Martin is a dick.

shame on you for putting austin powers in the same league as the rest of those awesome movies

Saw Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines again yesterday and Terminator Salvation for the first time.

I gotta say, though they’re obviously inferior to 1 and 2, that they’re still really enjoyable movies. Terminator 3 is kinda lighthearted, of course it really shouldn’t be, but for some reason I can still enjoy it save for that Shia le Beouf clone. Those dead dry remarks of the t800 always crack me up. ‘We require a new vehicle.’

Terminator Salvation on the other hand takes itself too damn seriously, I don’t think I laughed or even smiled a single time. No funny remarks nothing, which is kind of a shame.
But there was so much awesome action I’m willing to forgive. Oh, and is it just me or does John Conner come across like a total dickhole in Salvation? I really didn’t care at all for him.

I agree with you for the most part on both films.

And yes, Conner was a bit of a dick, but he was a war hardened badass. Being a bit of a dick is expected. I still found him to have redeemable features though.

What I didn’t like was that Marcus sacrificed himself for Conner who then sacrificed himself for Marcus who then sacrificed himself for Conner. What a waste of time. You only needed one of those sacrifices. The rest were just pointless.

Yeah it’s true that he’s supposed to be kind of a dick because of the hardened war here stuff, but it was to the point where I didn’t really give much of a shit what happened to him. And I agree that that second sacrifice was stupid. Especially since I, thus, had a lot more sympathy for Marcus. Plus, he can near take on a T-800 on his own! I’d say he’s quite a valuable asset. And seeing what he was capable of I think he could’ve took off where John Conner stopped. Though of course, seeing as he IS John Conner, it’s not really a viable option. Maybe if it was separate from the canon of the other movies.

Just watched Zombieland again. I love that movie. The dialogue is just so damn brilliant. And Bill Muray.

Bill Murray Played himself well in Zombieland. You gotta wonder about that line he says about his regretting Garfield though. Was it, like a lot of his clever quotes are, Ad-libbed?
Another funny thing to note is the appearance of a billboard for the Film “2012”. Both that and Zombieland both have Woody Harrelson in them.

The Men Who Stare at Goats

Watched it on Netflix last night. Pretty bizarre, occasionally surreal, and certainly pretty funny. Jeff Bridges’ character was a riot.

I lost it at the Predator. What can I say? I’m a sucker for acts of non-lethal violence.

The original ending was supposed to have John Connor die and Marcus becomes him. People in the test screenings didn’t like that, apparently.

The movie was pretty awesome. If there is ever a L4D movie, I want it to feel a lot like Zombieland.

I watched Lady Vengeance the other day. Oldboy was the only good one of the trilogy, IMO.

Just watched the original Tron. I’m now ready for the sequel.

Black Dynamite - 8/10

Pretty funny, very entertaining, but fell a little short at times. Some things just didn’t click for me. Not sure why.

I just turned down an invitation to go see that new TRON movie.
I’ve never been happier for avoiding a social situation. Trust me.
I had my reasons, and they were all good.

I liked how they purposefully tried to make a bad movie. But I agree that it could have been much better.

im going to see it friday with some fat chicks and a dude im tryin 2 fuq

I loved when one of them took a spear on Kung Fu Island. “Who saw that comi… Who saw where that came from?”
