Agreed.
Though my bar was set sort of low since there aren’t as many good movies coming out anymore.

District 9
Just watched it, and my word I haven’t felt this way about a movie since I first saw Aliens or Preadtor, while not as good as those films, it comes damn close, the most orignal scifi action film iv seen for ages, to think all that effort could have been thrown into a halo film… but i doubt that would have come close to this master class, very good
9/10
The last movie I’ve seen is Avatar. Pretty decent flick. I saw District 9 a while back. I saw the appeal but I left the theater feeling “ehh…”
I just saw Inglorious Basterd I loved the epic ending sequence 8.5/10
Sherlock Holmes. 5/10 I’d say.
Away we go. I swear, everyone in that movie was insane.
There are some pretty sweet slowmo fights and explosions, but thats about it.
I actually thought they were more accurate to the feel of the books than I ever expected to them. The interplay between Holmes and Watson was just about perfect. Sure, there’s a lot more action than in any of the books but I don’t think it detracts too much from the narrative.
TBH Id rather watch kindergarten cop or national lampoons vacation than see Avatar again. That shit was fucking boring. Also, a 500 million dollar film warning against the perils of human waste?
Actually, it wasn’t about waste; it was about plundering of natural resources and thinking that you can just take whatever you want simply because you’ve got the bigger weapon.
However, just because a bunch of “natural resources” were expended in making this film, it doesn’t mean that it was wasteful. If it leads to things happening to cut down on this kind of thing, it’s “money well spent”, in my opinion. To me, $1,000 spent on education is NOT the same thing as $1,000 spent on a new television, even though you’re out the exact same amount of green.
That said, back on topic (we can discuss this in the off topic forums/debating hall if you wish).
I find your lack of taste disturbing…
So I finally got around to watching Inglorious Basterds today and feel that it’s tied with District 9 as my favorite movie of the year. Action-packed, hilarious, suspenseful, it’s got it all. I think my favorite line of the movie is when they’re waiting in the bar:
[COLOR=‘LemonChiffon’]Lt. Aldo Raine: You didn’t say the goddamn rendezvous was in a fuckin’ basement.
Lt. Archie Hicox: I didn’t know.
Lt. Aldo Raine: You said it was in a tavern.
Lt. Archie Hicox: It is a tavern.
Lt. Aldo Raine: Yeah, in a basement. You know, fightin’ in a basement offers a lot of difficulties. Number one being, you’re fightin’ in a basement!
The entire bar scene all together though was a masterpiece.
“You’ll be shot for this!”
“No, probably just chewed out. I’ve been chewed out before.”
in the bar how come they only caught em cuz of the different hand signals when earlier on in the movie they established that that guy was a famous deserter who was on the front of the papers and stuff
He was wearing a different uniform, it confused them.
The last film I saw was Avatar…
Fucking epic and the 3D was great.
Lack of taste? People only like it because of its shiny effects. I’m sure if they poured the same amount of money into the effects department on any shitty movie people would be raving about it. And you cant tell me the plot was gripping because they fucking stole it.
Avatar was nothing more than the bastard child of Pocahontas and The Matrix.
you say that almost as if its a bad thing :3
I watched Taking Woodstock.
It sucked ass, I thought it was gonna be ABOUT WOODSTOCK
Instead it was about Demetri Martin playing as a pussy character who ends up being a fag even though he has super hot women who are down to fuck.
