Right off the bat I’d like to say I cannot wait for Black Mesa to come out. Ever since we were treated with the spectacular trailer we saw back in November, I knew I had found a place that shared my enormous passion for Half Life.

So I joined this forum. To talk, chat, speculate, about everything Half Life.

Who is Gman? What’s going to happen in Episode 3? Who would you cast in a Half Life movie? These are just a few things I was gleefully excited to post and read about with fellow fans. It took me far too long to realize one simple but huge detail about this place.

It’s full of morons.

I cannot remember where and when, but I mentioned how, for the life of me, I do dont understand why I keep coming back here every day and read the utter bullshit you guys splatter across my screen time and time again like it’s - I don’t even know. Trolling is one thing, but I gotta say that this is by far the dumbest forum I’ve experienced. I can only assume that the 3DRealms forum can’t hold a cock up to you guys because some of the things read here are stunning beyond belief.

This began when guys were spewing how Gman is Gordon. Everybody knows it’s impossible, but it never died out.

Shepherd. People want him in Episode 3. Fuck off.

Time travel in the Half Life story is sloppy storytelling. If you think Valve would stoop to the depths of hell and pull out time travel, then your bar for good plot is buried under two miles of shit. Someone even mentioned how they want Nihilanth to come back and help the rebels? Really?

I knew I’d had it when people in the Half Life Movie thread were saying how Gordon Freeman doesn’t need to be in it. Yes, he does.

You know you’re a Half Life fan when this shit truly bothers you. I’m tired of signing, and rolling my eyes after the first thing I read.

It would be hilarious if Ep3 did have Sheperd, time travel, Gordon’s feet, the nihilanth, Gman is revealed to be Gordon, and a movie without Gordon is announced right after.

I’d simply die laughing on the spot.

And the funny thing is that you’re probably checking this topic every few seconds, waiting for replies because it makes you feel like you’re social and people care about you. Somehow I doubt you even went to do homework or whatever, you just stayed on here and kept pressing the “refresh” button until you finally got a reply and jizzed your pants. Also, why is this in the Half-Life Series section? It has nothing really to do with the series itself, besides this guy whining about how this forum sucks. Shouldn’t it be in the “Raminator’s Ladies Club” thing, or something?

Although I agree with you on the point of morons and trolls, I think another problem is lack of tolerance. Sure, there are people out there who might have missed something in the way of story or comprehension of the series, but it sure doesn’t help when people like Dias (Yes, you’ve done it) start shoving abuse in their face.

Think about this; You’ve been on these forums for quite some time, they obviously haven’t. You’ve seen all the bullshit posts before and you have every reason to be angry, but flaming them doesn’t help because THEY haven’t seen the posts and have no idea why you are being so hostile. This drives people away, causes them to be hostile etc.

Basically, if anyone really does something incredibly retarded, leave it to the moderators to sort it out. Flaming them doesn’t help and makes us all look like a bunch of assholes.

I’d prefer a bunch of innocent retards which I can help, to a group of mini-modding dickheads.

I have no wish to start an argument on anything I just said, so don’t bother.

I too suffered the harsh lashes of impermeable ignorance against my unassailable logic. Day after day of this torment wore me down into a broken shadow of my former self, until at last, there was but one final option that lay open to me.
