The Horror

No, I’m talking about the fucking music playing at that exact moment on the tram. I just played it, I know it’s there.

Do you mean “Sirens in the Distance” then?

Damned if I know the name.

Looks like my thead has freezed. We haven’t come to any conclusions.
Here’s a kickstart:
The Horror is heard at several point’s in Xen (For example from the gate to the Nihilanths lair) So i don’t see how it could be the zombie horde. Maybe it’s from the dark depths of Gordons imagination?

Come on guys, Discuss!

Maybe its added for lulz?

They wouldn’t add The Horror for the lulz. I don’t even find it funny.

Half-Life is a serious game. If anything, it’s trying.

Valve has a weird sense of humor.

on a similar “spooky” note, in POINT INSERTION (hl2), you can faintly hear the ghostly echoes of children playing when you walk by the abandoned playground.

^I’ve noticed that

The one time I’ve heard the horror playing (I’m not too observant) is at the bottom of the rocket during on a rail. I thought it was because the room was full of cockroaches…

…howling cockroaches?

lol.

I’ve never tried hearing it down there.

You guys have given me the idea of modding the horror now.

What do you mean? Replacing it with stupid attempts to make ghost sounds?

WooooOOOOooooh

EDIT: Did i really write that? I hopefully didn’t mean that in a bad way. That would actually be pretty funny. Maybe it could be the marines trying to scare Gordon?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
