I reckon this should only be for this story arc

After an incident, Gordon disappears from ‘reality’; both sight and sound and has both flashbacks and flashforwards in the process.

• During a flashback, Gordon is at his parents house in Seattle. There is a lot of police and detectives at the house. Gordon’s sister had been kidnapped during the night and there is no trace of her. The only clue of her whereabouts is from a curtain ring left on her bed.
• During a flashforward, there is a brief moment in the epilogue where Dog sees you whilst Alyx presides over her father’s grave.
• By the end of this arc Gman has become mortal in the sense he can feel pain and experience death. He’s being torture and interrogated for his role in the Black Mesa Incident. Throughout the ordeal he is concious that your in the room with him and stares right at you.
• Barney is at a console at an abandoned research complex and discovers that the Black Mesa Incident and portal storms made it easier for the combine to invade but the invasion of Earth would of continued despite this. The reason was because of a priceless combine artefact which was ‘given’ to some researchers. The power of said artefact is so great that the combine felt the need to subjugate the remainder of the human population. The artefact went missing again after the portal storms.
• By the very end, Gordon comes face to face with Gman’s previous employers, who offers him a ‘promotion’

so i was thinking and i believe that the greatest way to end Half-life would be, Gordon traps the Combine leaders on earth. He sets up the final shot, fires. You hear a buzzing noise, then the screen goes blurry as and a new image comes through. YOU’RE BACK IN BLACK MESA DORMS, and your alarm is going off. After that you get up get ready for your shift. go through the intro to HL1, do the experiment and NOTHING GOES WRONG!

Gordon knew what could have happened if something went wrong. With all the stress, he dreamed up a scenario of what could have happened.

or even go all the way to MIT graduation day.

Half-Life 2 & the episodes had two very minor flashbacks in total. Both of which were to placed already visited in Half-Life 1. The test chamber, which was highly important to the story and referenced occasionally through out the game. The other was the lobby, which was iconic & early into the game where most people have probably been to it at least once, while gman is talking about Black Mesa.

Showing his parents, or the dorms, or MIT at graduation day wouldn’t make any sense & would be completely meaningless & seemingly random to 99.99% of the people who’ve played the games before, and if you haven’t than you’re extra boned.

I’m not sure, but I never thought that the flashback in Ep. 2 was the main lobby. Unless that’s not what you’re talking about.

If you noclip into the room or increase your FOV you can see the monitors on the left wall. As for the vent, the entire bottom(and the middle) of the wall is lined with air vents. But honestly, wasn’t the map behind him & the monitor on the desk a big enough giveaway?

When the test chamber was breefly seen in HL2 it was 100% recognisable. If Valve would want to show the lobby they wouldn’t make it FUBAR. So it is another location in the vast BMRF and not the lobby seen in HL.

I’m thinking of plenty endings, many are just nonsense:

1.Gordon defeated the combine and then G-man come(lol) and trap you and “You are no longer needed, Freeman” -Gman. Then he charges up his kameh-kamehaa, suddenly a cat teleports just above him and kleiner realized that the previous teleporter is VERY VERY VERY SLOW. The cat lands on Gman, screwing his Kameh-Kameehaa, it blows up, leaving a crater, you gman and others within the radius died. When other peeps come there they found a cat innocently taking a nap in the middle of the crater.

2.Gordon defeated the combine by a huge explosion and then the screen fades to white. when he woken up he is inside a courtroom with gman on the defendant’s chair, Dr.Breen as defense, Magnusson as judge, and you be the prosecutor. Then an ace attorney style courtroom battle begins.

3.The combine is almost defeated, Magnusson sends Alyx to defeat the rest of the combine somewhere to give Gordon a rest(seriously!). After the combine is defeated, a huge force of xen aliens swarms to alyx’s position. Magnusson declined to help and leaving Alyx overwhelmed. Gordon enraged, protesting to Magnusson, but he don’t listen, the resistance retake earth, and renamed themselves as the “Human Dominion”, while Magnusson proclaimed himself as “Emperor Magnusson”. Enraged Gordon formed another rebellion group against Magnusson called “Freeman’s Raiders”. Meanwhile the xen aliens captured Alyx and use some crap to alien-ised her, then it was born, Infested Alyx, leading the xen aliens.(obvious Starcraft reference)

And the greatest way to really end Half Life is…

Wow, now that’s a script. It must of taken months to write that. I can hardly imagine the excitement you felt when you realized that there was an exact Black Mesa thread for which you could share your ideas. Ill try to represent it in smiles, just because there silly.

The reason It was 100% recognizable is because it was pretty much copied and pasted strait from HL1. If they did that with the lobby, it would have looked really jarring especially with the high-poly gman sitting in the middle of the room.

My point was that Valve pay very much attention to detail. They would never remake the lobby as kinda-similar-but-not-really-the-same as in HL.

On a side note, is it of any significance whatsoever what particular location in BMRF it is?
