the greatest way to end half-life(imo)!

so i was thinking and i believe that the greatest way to end Half-life would be, Gordon traps the Combine leaders on earth. He sets up the final shot, fires. You hear a buzzing noise, then the screen goes blurry as and a new image comes through. YOU’RE BACK IN BLACK MESA DORMS, and your alarm is going off. After that you get up get ready for your shift. go through the intro to HL1, do the experiment and NOTHING GOES WRONG!

Gordon knew what could have happened if something went wrong. With all the stress, he dreamed up a scenario of what could have happened.

or even go all the way to MIT graduation day.

No, go away.

The only good way to end HL is Freeman sacrificing himself to save the universe… or Alyx

You’re an idiot.

Fix’d

At the end of Episode 3, the only way to end the game is to calmly walk away from the Combine Homeworld while it explodes behind you. If you look backwards, you die and have to replay the whole game from the start, because that’s not what badass heroes like Freeman do.

With this playing in the background?

naah, man! the only good way to end half life is a musical scene with every character in half life clapping and cheering with freeman singing about how the combine affected earth’s ecosystem and how it hurts to kill other living beings no matter if human or alien.

at the end of the scene all of the characters would hold hands in a big circle arranged in the following order: human, xenian, combine, machine, machine, combine, xenian, human, human, xenian…

and then fireworks, HUUGE orchestra, with the camera panning up to the sky with a headcrab-rocket shooting along like a comet.

THE END

Great Ending +1. Steam also deletes the save so you really need to start all over again ehehe. :stuck_out_tongue:

I reckon this should only be for this story arc

After an incident, Gordon disappears from ‘reality’; both sight and sound and has both flashbacks and flashforwards in the process.

  • During a flashback, Gordon is at his parents house in Seattle. There is a lot of police and detectives at the house. Gordon’s sister had been kidnapped during the night and there is no trace of her. The only clue of her whereabouts is from a curtain ring left on her bed.
  • During a flashforward, there is a brief moment in the epilogue where Dog sees you whilst Alyx presides over her father’s grave.
  • By the end of this arc Gman has become mortal in the sense he can feel pain and experience death. He’s being torture and interrogated for his role in the Black Mesa Incident. Throughout the ordeal he is concious that your in the room with him and stares right at you.
  • Barney is at a console at an abandoned research complex and discovers that the Black Mesa Incident and portal storms made it easier for the combine to invade but the invasion of Earth would of continued despite this. The reason was because of a priceless combine artefact which was ‘given’ to some researchers. The power of said artefact is so great that the combine felt the need to subjugate the remainder of the human population. The artefact went missing again after the portal storms.
  • By the very end, Gordon comes face to face with Gman’s previous employers, who offers him a ‘promotion’

i like the promotion idea! In the next game will be g-man. Wewill appear and disappear at the same time it will be awsom!

-Half-Life- Ending scene (WIP)

Freeman and the combine advisor fight inside an old, abandoned complex in the artic which before the Combine rule was a research facility owned by… lets say… TF industries … the idea is to make you remember Black Mesa. The advisor hoped to create a new resonance cascade using some old xenian crystal which was being studied there (it’s the same crystal from Black Mesa which was recovered).
Gordon goes gradually loosing all his weapons until he is grabbed by the psychic power of the advisor. He then proceeds to beat the hell up our hero. BUT, in the last moment, an orange portal opens, and a crowbar goes swinging throw the air pushed by a gravity gun weld by Alyx and sticks right into the advisor. He loses his control over you and is defenceless. You now finish him with the crowbar.

Screen fades to black

Ending credits with star wars theme playing.

This is bad and you all should feel bad.

I’ll be happy if it just ends in way that makes sense, with questions answers. I just hope they don’t drag it on for a dozen “episodes” and then add some half-ass lame ending to it like they did in Lost and then expect people to love it.

From what I understand no one loved the end of Lost, so how the writers came up with that conclusion is oddball in my opinion :freeman:

No because that would ruin the HL saga to me. Having done all that and being the greatest hero of all time, only to discover it was all just a dream, would make me mad as fuck.

I think a lot of people have not played half life 2 before. It is my favourite game of all time and i wanted to tell some people out there why i love the games. other people who really enjoyed half life 2.

Man, I loved the end of lost…they did everything perfect except the fight between Jack and the smoke monster ‘Floke’. Seriously that should have been an epic battle!

For some reason this reminds me of Dear Ester or Korsakovia.

Not on these forums…

You’ll probably be hard pressed to find anyone here, who can’t name the precise number of gunships you have to take out during the game.
