yeah. Portal: Prelude was for the hardcore Portal players. those who though Portal was easy and ran through it in 20 minutes.
Sure it became a meme fest, but I don’t know if it will have a lasting impact like we will still talk about it in 10-20 years time. Half-Life is kinda stuck here because Valve has at least released more than one game in the franchise. Portal 2 is still not out yet. If Valve manages to do the same magic with Portal 2 as with the first game then it might stand a chance of becoming a classic franchise. No single game alone can do that. Even Mario is a franchise with a dozen games.
Just gonna go ahead and break the derail about portal and mention the most glorious game of my childhood: Starfighter 3000.
We used to sneak this into school and play it on the old Acorns.
Those were the days… sigh
My first ever video game. Actually came out in ‘96, but I only ever played it on my parents’ computer with 98 on it.
you guys will probably laugh at me, but i loved this game.
Why would we laugh? It’s just one of the greatest adventures games ever made!
why do the vast majority of new releases suck these days? is it that developers have gotten lazy, or have they just lost there creative touch?
They just go for what sells more.
Also because there are less limits on graphical qualities, etc. they have to do A LOT more work for smaller things.
For instance, I was watching “The Making of God of War III” on the game after I’d beaten it, and they said “Where it had taken us 3-4 days to finish a character model, now it takes us about 2-3 weeks.” They have to put a lot more work into it, which means that it’ll take about twice as long to do the same amount of work as a game that’s older.
psst…
One of the best RTS games in my opinion
They actually sell it in EB games again.
I have no pictures. But I have a list. Doom II was the game that got me into gaming, Warcraft II got me into RTS, Heroes 3 is a game I still play today, Might and Magic games (only played 7 but still enjoyed it enough to do everything even play both endings) Um…yeah…OH yes and Full Throttle. Never finished it…
Must acquire.
