TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

I don’t think they’ve released a release date yet. Later this year, I’d imagine.

Sometime in January.

Hopefully it’s more user friendly & better overall than from previous games

Doubt it. Its the dev kit, so it only needs to make the game, not be easy to use.

So where to next?

Since all the northern places have now been covered we have only three remaining countries-
Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh.

Personally I am hoping for the Black Marsh. It would be great to see some truly strange environments again like in Morrowind.

They should introduce a new continent. But make it a whole continent like Daggerfall, only at the high levels of detail. A new continent would mean a new opportunity- something truly different than “generic fantasy.” I’d love to see a steampunk Elder Scrolls.

[COLOR=‘Black’]if you really want something like that just go play in Dwemer cities

Steampunk style is god tier, bro.

That said, I would like to see a game that mixes futuristic high-tech style and technology with traditional fantasy genre magic, lore and races in a way that is totally different from WH40K.

inb4 summerset isle stopping the thalmor

I’m not sure what I would love about that more, stomping Thalmor or knowing that the next proper game in the series wouldn’t be in Summerset.

Well, I do know it’s going to be most certainly an exotic place. Even uesp admits it even though by the description it might look alot like Cyrodiil. https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Summerset_Isle Still wound be an interesting choice. A Hemmerfell is fine too.

I wouldn’t rule anything out. They have technically done all of Tamriel in Arena. They did miss the majority of Morrowind in the Morrowind game. Also Daggerfall’s Hammerfall isn’t exactly what I’d call a detailed representation.

Also taking place in or overlaping an already explored area would give more character to the world and visually show the changes that have taken place since each game. Setting the next TES in Morrowind would show it after Red Mountain exploded and just in general the changes.

Since the world is the biggest character in TES it makes sense to show it developing and changing. They have after neglected to do that.

I want Valenwood. How can you not want giant walking trees?

Truth so much.

I also want wood elves to look like they did in every previous elder scrolls game and not degenerate goblins.

They look fine. Except if you mean falmer they do look like degenerate goblins.

He specifically said Wood Elves. Falmer are supposed to look like degenerate goblins.

We should go back to when Khajiit looked like humans. Those were fun times.
/sarcasm

Exactly. Skyrim effectively ruined my dainty elf princess way of life, and it has caused me emotional trauma.

A prequel game with Dwemer would be awesome.

Otherwise I’d also love to see Black Marsh.
<3 Argonians.

Wouldn’t really want Black Marsh, I doubt Bethesda could capture the atmosphere that place is suposed to have, and even if they did, I really wouldn’t want it. TES is about exploring large worlds, conquering enemies and generally being the hero, but I feel like Black Marsh almost requires a much more mundane survival based theme.
