at first i was like
then i was like
Lol i used to stole shitloads of stuff when the guy in the area wasn’t looking in both Fallout 3 and oblivion.
I find that a lot of minecrafts environments are just interesting. For the way they are environments. I am aware that Oblivion is technically superior but Minecraft environments are just more interesting.
Honestly I hope there is much more of a human touch to this game, both in world creation and in assets.
Yeah. Although that won’t count for anything if they mix up the landscape a lot. I really hope they don’t follow lore.
You hope they don’t follow lore?
I hope the do. SNOW FUCKING EVERYWHERE MAN. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES.
Actually, I am being super serious here.
Snow= very very cold water
Dragons= very fucking hot
Skyrim = completely new engine never before seen
Snow+ dragons+ Skyrim= Dynamic landscapes
Dynamic landscapes= HELL YES
melted snow???
AFIAK the lore doesn’t strictly make it a tundra. It borders Cyrodiil, Morrowind, Hammerfell and high rock. That’s a lot of room for variation, in fact just about all they can’t squeeze in is jungle and tropics.
But I know it won’t, it’ll be a tundra because that takes less assets to make.
We’ll see. I just know I hate snow, even if by some miracle its actually is dynamic. So boring and white…
id tech fiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Not really, in this case.
I could be wrong, But I seem to remember that morrowind-north and the highrock/skyrim border are just as cold and snowy as skyrim, and in cyrodiil skyrim is bordered by the Jerall mountains, which are also covered in snow.
Key word being strictly.
Just found a pretty cool mod, don’t know if anyone has seen it before, but it’s a total conversion of Morrowind to the Oblivion engine, and it’s inside the Oblivion game!
Mod’s called Morroblivion, and I guess for those of you who haven’t played Morrowind yet, or liked it more than Oblivion, here it is.
By the way, you need Oblivion with Shivering Isles patched to at least 1.2, and Morrowind with all of its expansions (Bloodmoon and Tribunal). The site will give instructions on how to install, if you have these games, you’re probably familiar with how to mod them anyways.
Hey, thanks for this. I’m going to have to go check this out.
Yeah, you don’t have customization in the start of Morrowind, you take a boat from Imperial City, I think idk…then you just walk out to Seyda Neen and go along on the quest I think, I’m installing it now and stuff.
According to the FAQ, there are quite a few bugs and quests don’t even work. Also I don’t think the Oblivion speech UI will work well for Morrrowind. I’m going to book mark this and wait till its a little later in development.
What’s the point if you already have Morrowind? Its not going to be better. Even graphically Morrowind can be upgraded to look better.
True to an extent, some effects can be faked but the optimization is lower that it could. While Oblivion will still sit there not doing anything with my extra cores it’ll still do something. I get lower FPS in MGE than in stock oblivion. Which IMO stock Oblivion technically looks better.
