TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

Thank you.

it’s kinda funny how they use the same voice for both Khajiit and Argonian NPCs. You could easily make a mod with a self-hating Khajiit who speaks those lines. With the numerous voices used in Skyrim, i hope that we get new voice altogether for beast races. Like how they did without the phlegmy voices for Dark Elves in Oblivion, i hope they get rid of the scratchy voices for beast races. i figured the hissy voice of the G-Man would be good for Argonians but i don’t know what Khajiits would sound like. For him at least, i imagine something deeper like a “normal” Nord’s voice.

CAN’T THEY ALL JUST GET ALONG?!

That’d be dull.

Conflict is fun.

And Argonians when speaking should have emphasis on some words that end with an s. It would be also very neat if in between sentences, they swiftly licked their lips like a snake whipping out it’s split tongue. That’d be a very cool detail for the argonians when conversing.

And orcs should just have deep, rough voices and a low vacobulary to top it off.

Khajiits - “Meow?”

You have a “low vacobulary”

At least he didn’t say “conversating”.
On the topic of voice though, i’m hoping for more unique voices in general, not just one new voice for each race. if more unique characters had unique voice, i’d be happy. Think about Septim or his son, each played by different voice actors. (Patrick Stewart!) Now apply those unique voices to characters throughout the main quests, NPCs is certain towns and guild/faction members.

Were those the only unique voices?

I’d like to see voice acting removed, and THE PLAYER’S NAME put back in dialogue as a result.
EDIT: Oh, and the diversity of dialogue that would be possible if they did not have to pay a voice actor to record each line.

If only my diminutive vocabulary supplemented my inferior mind with an adequate range of pseudo-intellectuals enabling me to deceitfully alter your judgmental perspectives of my incognizant word utilization. :frowning: If only…

:stuck_out_tongue:

I find it quite normal that there is racism in a world where there actually are races.

In real life nobody blames you for hating snakes.

I guess you think black people don’t exist

(Or Asians, Mexicans, Pacific Islanders, etc.)

Well, maybe we don’t have the same definition, but from my point of view there’s no such thing as “races” among men. It would be like saying a black cat is a different race than a white cat.

I hope it’s just a vocabulary thing.

You know what?
i like your way of thinking.

-Kawai Tei-

When we say different “races”, we are referring to the different ethnicities/divisions of humankind.
Not Humankind as a whole. His thinking is correct, but there are two definitons to “race” when referring to groups.

So yes, there are races among men.

…but they are still completely unnecessary.

Been waiting for a good moment to post that.
Also, KER-BLAM! Fan interviews!

Highlights :

  • Varied body types for reach race and gender (heavy, light, etc.)

  • Armor are combined into full sets consistent of greaves and cuirass. Gloves, boots and helmets are separate.

  • MORE armor variants both in material and appearance, including Dragonscale.

  • “Encounter zones” determined the game’s difficulty. Some sections of the game map/world are flexibly leveled while others are otherwise set or capped.

  • Make friends (companions?) with NPCs to gain perks. Marriage is included so if you buy a house, your spouse will move in.

  • PC version gets bigger textures, models with higher poly. “…and a bunch of other effects you can scale up if your machine is a beast.”

  • Enchanting is a skill now. You can learn new enchantments either by learning them, obtaining them through perks or “breaking down” an enchanted item you’ve purchased or found.

  • All NPCs and player character RUN AT THE SAME SPEED! sad face

  • TAVERN BRAWLS!! New non-lethal minigame.

  • Some buildings (towns?) can be destroyed by Dragons. “But it’s rare”.

  • New animations depending on gender and race. Beast races have original animations.

-Kawai Tei-

Wow, of all the games to include marriage, the one set in arctic barbarian land would not have been the one I personally would have guessed.

Sounds interesting. I wonder if it is only certain scripted people you can marry, or if people can marry anyone single, given enough time and effort?

That sounds great, but then you look at Fable.

It never sounded great to me. Why would you want one.

What happened to fable?
