On a side note, Bethesda needs to make up its mind whether to call the dwemer dwarves or dwemer.
And by make up its mind I mean call them dwemer, they aren’t dwarves.

It’s just a nickname. Like how most people call the Orsimer, “Orcs” or the Dunmer, “Dark Elves”.
Except they keep calling their items either dwarven or dwemer for no real reason. Pick one and stick with it.
Some people have mentioned mouse lag, yeah?
When in game, the mouse sensitivity on the X axis is fine and works according to the game options’s “look sensitivity” setting.
but the fucking Y axis seems like it is much slower than the X axis. For example, when i turn the sensitivity all the way up, looking up and down seems about right but looking left to right is now consequently a bit too sensitive.
My computer is getting cleaned and upgraded in a week bc it has registry settings problems but if anyone had a simple remedy for this problem with mouse lag and sensitivty, then do help a bro out.
Agreed. I much prefer Dwemer and Dunmer to Dwarves and Dark Elves. Calling them dark elves just seems too generic fantasy to me, and it feels like they are grouping them together too tightly with the other elf races that way.
Speaking of Elves, somebody seriously need to mod their eyes. They’re just incredibly creepy.
That’s the point. Gross, weird, red creepy eyes.
Speaking of weird, I was riding a stolen horse and came across M’aiq, so I got off, and then the horse launched down the road and flew into the sky until it disappeared.
Anybody get Meeko the Dog?
Thought that was incredibly fucking sad.
Yes, because the term “mer” isn’t generic fantasy.
So, I’m glad to eat a shit load of crow. This game is awesome and I’m sorry for ever doubting it.
Even with its flaws this is the best game I’ve played in years – and I’ve played some really good shit over the last few years.
I’m actually quite fond of the Dunmer eyes. It gives them more intimidation than what other more-human races have.
So I haven’t gotten Skyrim yet (blasphemy, I know, but I need to upgrade my computer first), and after hearing it has no equipment degradation, I thought that would be a nice thing to have while I play Oblivion to pass the time. So I’ve been looking around TES Nexus and Planet Elder Scrolls and I can’t seem to find a mod that does that. Does anyone happen to know of one?
Still beats the shit out of “elves”.
Also just started the companions questline. Holy shit was I surprised.
fuck degradation. That shit annoyed me. mainly because of my OCD and a sword i really liked and didn’t want to degrade, but it always irritated me in Oblivion when I would fully repair a sword to 100% and then lose 1 or 2 points of condition from killing a mudcrab.
In case you didn’t know, you can reinforce armor at hammering workbenches, create swords, daggers, etc. at smithing ovens/anvils, and sharpen or upgrade weapons at grindstones.
Constantly repairing flaws is the thing of the past. It’s all about moving forward and making your weapons better now. And i like that more.
Yeah, the dark elf eyes are fine, and how they should be seeing as that’s what they’ve looked like since Arena. The wood elf and high elf eyes though are just simply retarded, and a complete punch in the nuts to the rest of the series.
Why?
I fixed my mouse lag first by editing a couple .ini files thus disabling vsync (I also used my nVidia drivers to force vsync off, but that’s optional):
…\steamapps\common\skyrim\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini
-and-
…\my documents\my games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini
Add: iPresentInterval=0
to the bottom of the [Display] sections in both files.
Then I raised my graphics settings from Medium to High, which improved performance drastically for me. If your sensitivity won’t change, you can always try mouse control panel settings in Windows.
Something similar happened to me with a wagon in Riverwood.
i accidentally pushed it into the stream so i jumped in to get it. While hoisting it back up on land, the thing shot off like a fuckin’ rocket, bounced off the cliff side and took off for the moon.

no degradation? damn, I liked that aspect. I had too much shit in oblivion even as I was casting off broken stuff, now with no degradation I’ll be constantly over encumbered.
dammit, I really like weapon degradation, was an integral part of SS2 (GOAT) too
