TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

It’s cool tei. I’ve got a less combat character. I’ve got a No-main-quest mod and am living mostly like a normal person.

I can see that playing with different character personalities would certainly give the game a kind of freshness. I play a few different characters depending on the mood I’m in, some lean more to the magical side while others rarely use it, however mine are still all geared to some kind of combat - but that’s cause I can’t help but go everywhere and do every quest and find every bit of treasure there is to find.

I was told “You don’t HAVE to finish everything, it’s a role playing game!” Alas, I do have to finish everything because my own personality won’t allow me to see anything unfinished.

One of my favorite play-thrus was with my Oblivion Mage’s Guild character, Pad’Ji, a younger Ohmes Raht girl. Her entire skills list were non-offensive magic, personality, speechcraft and mercantile, etc. She owned and ran a small apothecary i built for her in Cheydinhal to pay for her schooling. To get into the Arcane University, she of course had to collect endorsements from each guild hall. Having never left the county of Cheydinhal, she took along every volume of the Tamriel guide books (which i actually read) and her tame wolf companion, Echo.

Echo did most of the combat involved in the game until she met up with a guild member whose name i can’t remember. Sort of like a crush, he followed and protected her while collecting his own endorsements in tandem. Unfortunately, due to a minor lack of willpower, he opted not to enroll in the University and instead took tutoring from Pad’Ji in return for her protection.

Without spoiling anything for those who haven’t played it, i was VERY pleased with how the story unfolded around the characters i created. Everything worked out and matched SO WELL, i refuse to play that guild again. No other play-thru could ever top it.

Same here. i gotta conquer everything every single fucking time. Leave no stone unturned and just be the badass of every single guild and province. I just feel inferior as that character if i don’t.

You can solve anything with a 30 pound warhammer.

I’m rather partial to a claymore myself.

I once killed Luciene Lechance when he showed up by my bed in the middle of the night. I told myself that my character wouldn’t fall in with the likes of him, however I ended up going to a previous save and making up a story about how he was forced into the guild just so I could go and get the goodies.

I remember way back when I finished the Arena, and Lachance derped his way up to my Cheydinhall Inn room insisting I was most certainly a murderer for killing the Grey Prince infront of the whole Imperial City.
I used his naked, dead body as a human slinky down the stairs right infront of Guilbert Jemane and Dervera Romalen, and not a single fuck was given that day.

In case anyone was wondering, I have never finished the whole game with one single character.

lol at the slinky.

And I hope you mean you never completed the whole game 100% with one single character… bc if you havent beaten the mainquest with any single character yet, well then son i am disappoint.

I have never completed the whole game, with one single character.

Nor Have I, in fact even throughout all the characters I’ve made I doubt I finished everything. It’s impossible for me to know though because I don’t use guide books.

:frowning:

Dude. Go do it. it’s fucking awesome. It has DRAGONS N’ GODS FIGHTIN’ N’ SHIT. DO EET.

Oh, and yeah, i have the GOTY strategy guide book for my GOTY TES4. heh heh. B)

I found it amazing how many of the exact same thoughts I had going through the main quest the first time.

spoiler alert: This is only for those people who have actually finished the main quest. Sorry spoon.

Oh goodness, I remember those. :awesome:

Not that quest for the Mages’ guild where you have to shoot the pillars with different elements.

The sarcasm levels he talked in along with the awkward out-of-place emphasis on words that Microsoft Sam naturally supplies it with is lulzy as hell.

I had a MAAAGIC warhammer. HA!

Touche.

“From what I can see, the town was sacked by a few scamps and a clannfear”
Fucking priceless.

That part is what really kicked the rest of video’s humor into gear. The whole thing is a chuckle fucker.

i wish somebody out there would do a semi-serious explanation of Morrowind. i would settle for Microsoft Sam’s interpretation. Because the game is so long-winded and full of political issues, the main quest is hard to grasp even after multiple play-thrus. Also, there’s almost no spoken dialogue so it’s easy to forget place, people and party names because they’re all in Dunmerese. Even now, i still don’t quite understand half of what’s going on and i’m on my 3rd play-thru.

…and for the record : my character is H2H only and a non-lethal fighter at that. His willpower and magic abilities are non-existent and relies completely on scrolls and enchanted items. The only exception to his pacifist rule is that PURE evil monsters such a Daedra and blighted animals are killable.

You don’t understand the story bc in order to get it, you gotta kill people.

Aww, it appears you have run into a dilemma…
