TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

Shit is complicated to explain, coupled with the fact that I haven’t gone through the main quest in years I have no idea how to explain it.

Actually, Oblivion is probably in my top 3 played games, behind TF2 and BF2142, and I still haven’t beaten the main quest. I just load it up every couple years with the latest graphics overhaul mods to enjoy the rich atmosphere.

Its not too complicated. You’re the reincarnation of a great soldier who fought again the Dwemer. The Dwemer made a machine that made people gods, but when they used it they were banished from life/nirn/something. Your buddies then use it and become Gods. Thats the tribunal and Dagoth Ur. You have to go stop them, and to do this you have to be recognized as the Neravarine by the tribes (fetch quests and escort quests ensue) and as the Hortator of the Houses (fetch quests and escort quests ensue). Then, you get some weapons that will allow you to destroy the object that made people into Gods (which interestingly is the heart of a God who died and now is a moon) and some armor so you can wield the weapons. Then you slap Dagoth Ur’s shit and you’re done.

Beyond the main quest are a ton of simple problems that just would take a while to get through and I’m lazy.

That story is a lot more complicated than most video game stories though. Certainly more complicated than Oblivion.

Direct feed montage of the gameplay demo from E3. The sound work seems pretty damn good.

Meh, maybe a little, but the complexity was never really in the story, its more in the lore. Ultimately, the lore behind the Morrowind and Oblivion stories has fairly similar depth, if you really want to get into it.

Also damn copyrights.

On the subject of Morrowind’s main quest, i had figured out that much aside from the “machine making people Gods”. That part is new to me. i just got Wrathguard and i’m assembling my army of helpful goons to help me beyond the Ghost Gate. i figured so long as i can pretend they are Tribe and House followers, i can get away with having a few buddies come along.

i’ve been able to justify killing the few characters that i did by creatively manipulating them into attacking my character. it sound silly, i know, but my character just isn’t the aggressor type.

EDiT : Found this while searching for a re-post of that video.

EDiTTED EDiT : it’d probably help to POST a link, huh?

Morrowind had taunting, so technically you can never murder anyone and still kill everyone. Kinda OP, that.

Thanks maxey for the attempt.

Thanks Tei for the back up. <3

Soooo…

Steal any apples lately?

I picked up a piece of crumbled paper, i thought no one would want that but… Well, you know, the gueards know everything

So yeah, preorder and stuff.

I’ll pre-order it in September. I’ve already pre-ordered Deus Ex and Red Orchestra 2.

I just pre-ordered today

I’m pre-ordering retail for awesome ol’ school rpg cloth map. Also because the last 2 games beth has published have been steam mandatory so not like it matters.

Same here, got it in gamestop. You get like 10 euro off, on certain games when you pre-buy… Just don’t know if Skyrim is one of those yet.

I’m waiting for the steam version, that way I get to play on 11/11/11.

I probably already know the answer to this, but I have to ask. I’m able to change what the main character looks like, right? The guy in all the screen-shots and trailers is just the canon character, right? Because, personally I think I need to give him a different look when I’m playing as him.

Yes you cetainly can.
