I usually wait a year or two before getting a new console as well, the price drops surprisingly quick. But we must thank those who do buy them brand new, they drive the price down and get the second hand market going

if i had the money i’d freggin buy the thing while it’s still in beta , before it’s released , that’s how the industry works , the rich first

Who cares The video wasn’t even about the characters’ movements. It was about the realistic environment. Image Metrics which was right after that, on the other hand, was about the looks and movements.

stupid question ,

the video above me , the female is actually a render?

Yes (except at the end at like 1min 31sec)

You can check out the videos here:

Wow! This, in Games?

i’ve seen em al , amazing thing , but video games are still restricted by amount of triangles a model has [i just woke up i cna’t think how they’re really called] , it woudn’t surprise me if we se that render type in hl3

(you’re probably thinking polygons and tessellation). That Will smith thing was rendered on one 4870 within the blink of an eye. They said we should see games with Cinema 2.0 and lightstage around 2011 or 2012. If the cloud becomes a reality, it won’t even matter the hardware that you have, it’ll work. You’ll just have to have high speed internet to play it through the OTOY browser.

I wouldn’t even be surprised if Half Life 3 would look something like this:

we’il just hope that onlive solves all their issues

Well the Cloud is definitely going to solve the pirating issue for games since it will only be in one place and not on everyone’s computer.

that was obvious ?! ,hacking too

How the hell did I manage to completely overlook that? That’s brilliant!.. Although some people will still find a way to hack it.

Edit: went back to original

Yeah but by then, the connection in AMD might be so fast that the moment they hack in, AMD will know the IP routes he hacked through and find their their location by the time they can do anything. Imagine this for a second:

Hacker: “Almost there, Almost there! Ha I’m in!”

  • AMD notices breach. 1 AMD rep calls cops the other calls the hacker. Cops call ISP, ISP disconnects the customer’s IPs (even 3gIP), cops ask for a report on the person’s computer(s) activity on the web.

** ring ring ** ring ring ** ring ring **
Hacker: “oh shit!”

(If he answers)
Hacker: “hello?”
AMD : “Hello ________!” (the username he uses to logon to his computer)
Hacker: “um…”
AMD : “We know what you’re up to.”

If he’s on a laptop or a smartphone and runs he can be tracked.

Yeah pretty much hacking into high security in the most powerful super computer is going to be more difficult for them when Internet 2.0 is out.

well the plugin for internet explorer [ as far as onlive is concerned ] can be edited [PC], and the console itself [as far as onlive is concerned ] may be altered…[TV]

Thats only something a moderator can do. Ask brokenfridgehinge, Raw_bean or even Raminator and maybe they can delete your post.

Don’t worry, just delete it all and write EDIT: Ignore this or something. I don’t bother, mine mostly get ignored anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Super convincing video, but if you know it’s fake before, you can see slight flaws. The mouth is a tough one, and every so often there is just a minor thing that makes it look flawed. At one point her mouth closed a bit quick, things like that. If I didn’t know beforehand though, I might have thought it was real.

your atention to detail makes you seem smart ,good play

thanks, I just Edited the post to make it like the original.
They would find out where the hacker is faster than when they found out that kid who hacked the Pentagon and started that doomsday simulation in the 80s since internet 2 going to be fiber optics.
I’m just throwing ideas here.

OnLive will fail miserably.

Cup o Joe, you’re doing it wrong. All one needs is a crowbar

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
