I was horribly stoned last night but I couldn’t forget seeing this picture.
what part in that picture did made you suffer ?
i ninj’d lamsey godlike
I am an nvidia owner, and now ati has the cheapest AND most powerful video card.
bumped for awesomeness. the 4890 is still awesome.
On a side note since it is the technology thread:
I just saw this on future weapons on Discovery Channel:
The Shotgun of the 21st century. Gas powered 300rpm AA12 shotgun:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu965sVymMs
.50 Caliber semi automatic sniper riffle:

three words come to mind: WHAT THE F***
Why don’t you keep that in the gun topic. This is for real technology.
I was going to say something interesting, but then I just got a nose bleed and forgot.
My room is so damn hot!

my gawd you’ve worked much on that picture , but it’s more or less accurate
it’s safe to assume that’s not going to last , nvidia may rape ati of that technology and pump it up , i keep wondering , when a better port [ex PCI-E] is coming out , is really PCI-E the best way to share data?
I have dual SLI’s, which beats just about anything ATI can throw at me.
There is no such thing as dual SLI’s.
There is only SLi configuration consisting of a certain number of nvidia GPUs.
Dual, tripple, and quad SLi configuration.
/pedant
quad Sli? that would create more heat than a jet engine.
Also more powerful. You can fly boats with those things.
everyone says there pushing whatever platform there developing on to its limits, its all bullshit. Consoles will always be inferior to PCs in pure power, so even the next gen of console if released today, would look like the pc exclusives of today or worse.
google crysis
you would imagine console-express technology like onlive said they implemented in their supercomputers , different [better] architecture for computer parts that give far more power then today at a better consume they said , one-piece pieces , also i heard a new tipe of usb is coming out this one like 1 gb /s transfer , can’t this be abused in the video card industry? like … usb video cards ,i’ve already seen Creative’s usb audio cards .
transfer rates aren’t the problem.
PCIexpress2.0 only has a tranfer rate of 500MB/s, and we aren’t even close to touching that yet. It’s about GPU power that is the limiting factor.
According to Microsoft reps the Xbox 360 is just over half way through it’s life cycle. It seems doubtfull that they will be releasing any time soon.
Although consoles do continue to sell after they are replaced by new gen, ‘just over half way’ seem like there is a long way to go.
I can tell you they are still selling PS2’s as good as they were a year or 2 ago in this country.
what exactly is keeping them from making video cards with i7 processors and tri-channel 4 gb ddr3’s 2000 hz memories? , i know they will cost as much as a computer , but they will last 20 years as far as performance goes ,
also
[was written before the 1st paragraph ] it seems that the selling of ps2 has accelerated in romania due to price cuts , it seems that my county will always be found to this theory ," wait t’il it gets cheap and not dead" , it’s hard to imagine that any time soon the playstation 2 will die , but the xbox seems to have , did it die or romania just isn’t one of the coutries that it’s publictated ?
GPUs are already powerful in their own right. You can’t just plunk a Corei7 CPU and make it a reasonable graphics chip. They don’t work that way. Just look at what happens when you CPU is forced to do graphical tasks. It fails miserably.
Considering that GDDR5[/SIZE] is already in use on video cards, I don’t think you should get too caught up on that. Memory bandwidth and latency isn’t as much a bottleneck as sheer GPU power.
Intel is working on a core that is both CPU, and GPU but it’s ability to compete with current gen discrete GPUs is going to make it a non factor.
Whatever intel is working on, it’s probably gonna fail in terms of gaming.
I will always agree to this.
I tired to run CSS forced to DX6 with everything min or off on a E5400 and it couldnt even get over 10FPS.
