Straight vs LGBT(Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transexual)

Same with religion, I couldn’t really care less about someone’s sexual orientation as long as they don’t try to force it on me.

Lol, sorry to interrupt your guys’ conversation :retard: .

Yeah, when I think what the word “normal” meant in my home country 70 years ago… ugh.

Correct me if I am wrong but some of the great cats kill their cubs… I guess infanticide is natural too.

Also, I am surprised no one has made any jokes about “gay marriage” and abstinence.

Infanticide isn’t a trait that animals are born with, so it’s a pretty lame comparison.

I find it funny that I haven’t seen a gay person’s opinion in this thread.

You just posted, didn’t you?

loljk
Sorry. I had to do it.

Now see, that’s the thing. So many people are concerned with what is “natural” and what is “unnatural” (the latter being horrendous, reprehensible and scorn-worthy).

Let me tell them something: “Nature” is a cruel place. Great cats will kill their cubs. A tiger will run down its prey, break its neck, and begin to eat the prey WHILE IT IS STILL ALIVE! I’ve seen shit in nature that makes Abu Ghraib look like Disneyland.

And homosexuality exists in nature, too. Just like heterosexuality. If heterosexuality is natural, then, Lucy, you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Actually, I think (I’m not sure) some animals kill their own children under certain circumstances, or at least abandon them. This would happen when the cost of raising that offspring would be too high, or too unlikely to succeed. The result would be that the parent has a chance to produce new offspring who have a higher chance of survival.

I think some animals even eat their children for the same reason, which has the added benefit of providing nutrition to the parent.

Again, I’m not sure about any of this. I’m basing this on very vague memories with my own logic and understanding of evolution applied.

You do know that you can make fun of gays, blacks, Mexicans, Asians, whites, women, men, and just about everyone all day without hating those people, right?

It’s only racist if you are.

Yeah, but that’s because of conditions or situations that they’re in making it necessary to kill the offspring. It’s not like they were born with the inherent desire to eat babies.

I think he said defect, but yeah, good point.

Yeah, I figured I’d get this type of reaction.

I’d like to point out that if you are already racist then those type of jokes nurture it.

But do you agree with any of the points?

So what kind of opinion you looking for?

Oh hey there is a gay/bi/whatever person here.

So do you disagree anybody defending people who aren’t straight?

Kinda strange wording, but the question is “Do I disagree with anyone who is defending gay/bi/lesbian/trans?” Correct?

I kinda came late in the game on this thread, so I skimmed over most of it. But I can tell you how I feel and some of the things posted here. VIA STORY!

Natural?
Yes, as I said, I was raised Mormon, and most of the people I know in my home town are Mormon. So, I hope one could understand why I keep my feelings a secret to my family and friends. There are a select few people in this world that actually know Who I am. I denounced Mormonism while I was in High School, and slowly moved from Agnostic to Atheist and I joke around I worship pagan gods when people ask… I digress.

Growing up, I didn’t know I was bi, or even had any bi-curious tendencies at all. I guess that could also be filed under the average 9 year old doesn’t say “Gunna get me some pussy tonight”. I had a couple “girlfriends” at the younger ages like many kids do, but as puberty sets in, I find myself while attracted to females, the occasional male sets off the same kind of feelings. My Mormon self at the time just files it under “huh, that was weird, now lets forget it happened.”

Until I was getting into my teenage years, I was a very sheltered person, in a community of mostly Mormon, in a red state. I didn’t really know what being gay meant till I reached early middle school. It’s just not something that comes up as dinner table conversation. I guess the rise of internet into most American households really opened my eyes to the world outside. However I was still Mormon and just refused to believe I could be gay, but the feeling never goes away.

Fast forward to now. My atheist self, trying to be tolerant, living with another gay person (we actually tend to keep our distance, as we don’t really know each other…University housing), as well as the gay hating couple and one of my best friends, who doesn’t know, nor needs to.

Yet I still keep it in the closet. I act completely straight, which makes it hard to let others, that I wouldn’t mind know…get in the know. I’ve had partners of both sexes, but keeping a serious relationship with another man in my situation is…difficult.

In case you are wondering as to why I denounced Mormonism and religion in general has anything to do with my orientation. The answer is “No”. I denounced it because while studying the old/new testament (Mormons do study old/new testament, probably more so than the actual Book of Mormon) My problem lies in inconsistency, science, history and common fucking sense.

I noticed someone said something about hereditary sexual orientation. I call bull on that. To my knowledge, I am the only person the venture off the straight and narrow in my family. But I am only a small sample of the millions and millions of families on earth.

Someone also said, a gay couple would raise gay children. Maybe, but why would a straight couple raise a gay child? Why in my highly conservative upbringing did I still end up having a bi orientation? With that logic, wouldn’t a gay couple, try as they might still be unable to sway an adopted child from becoming exclusively attracted to females?

I feel how I am is natural, I don’t have any more guilt when I share a kiss or even more tender moment with a male partner than I do with female partners.

I hope I answered your question, it’s kinda broad and I didn’t want to go back through over 10 pages of thread and quote and comment on either case.

I would be willing to answer specific questions or clarify on my tale as long as it’s kept respectable, mature and doesn’t delve deep into my private life…too much.

Ditto.

Why does it matter if it’s “natural” or not? As long as there are heterosexuals, there will be homosexuals and bisexuals. That is the biological norm for humanity, and it’s a shame people don’t see it as the social one.

A broken neck is usually instantly fatal

What? No it isn’t.
