I am a member of a local PCA church. My father is a Chaplain and an ordained minister of the PCA. In terms of social issues, basically I agree with everything Focus on the Family states.

A devil’s advocate is simply someone who takes an unpopular position (whether they agree with it or not) for the sake of argument or to expose it to thorough examination. There is an actual occupation inside the Roman Catholic Church called the “Devil’s Advocate” which presents arguments against a proposed beatification or canonization of a beatus.
It isn’t someone who advocate’s the Devil’s side on an issue.
