…Indeed.
Probably the same reason as why straight guys are turned on by hot lesbian girls.
Oh, you haven’t heard about their founder, James Dobson, I take it. Check this:
D:
…wat!!!
I didn’t read that in any parenting books.
Heh. But when I first read the quote, where Dobson claims that you have to “affirm his son’s maleness”, this is the first thing I thought of was:
I don’t see how staring at penises would affirm ones maleness.
Looks like this guy’s a bit “Narnia”.
I see you watched “It’s a Daddy Thing” Part 6 as well. 8)
Or was it part 7 ?
Gay =/= Being Girly
bscly.
Also I consider myself to be bisexual, so you can ask me questions about it if you like.
For those familiar with it, I am a 2 on the Kinsey scale.
I always found that scale a bit silly. People lend so much importance to labels.
Indeed, though I found it useful for defining my sexuality. Also useful for understanding the general nature of human sexuality, as, given the striking variety of sexual preferences and fetishes out there, sexuality is quite obviously analog in nature.
So like: “I’m 99% heterosexual, but I once got an erection only to find out it was a trap.”
Or: “I’m 99% homosexual, but one guy had a vagina.”
Just a little side-by-side I’m surprised hasn’t come up:
Dolphins are the closest animal to us in intelligence (in case you forgot, human = mamalia= animal)
Dolphins are also the only other species to engage in sex for any purpose other than reproduction (sex for fun).
Dolphins tend to have sex with any other dolphin, regardless of gender. If a baby comes out, woohoo!
So, homosexuality isn’t only normal in lesser intelligent animals. Somebody made that assertion several pages back, saying we couldn’t compare animals to humans. Which is odd, as, I’ll say it again, we are animals.
We share the same central brain structure and functions as any other animal, but with layers of higher function (woven with [and sometimes polluted by] threads of society’s preconceptions, religion, and social norms) on top of it. If that central brain wants to mate with another of the same sex, it’s going to fight to help that urge break through the layers of suppression.
And when those threads of society’s preconceptions, religion, and social norms don’t give?
They snap.
[COLOR=‘Gray’]That was a pretty neat analogy, if I do say so myself.
Homosexuality is natural. It’s just not the norm. Doesn’t make it wrong.
And has anybody ever thought that perhaps homosexuality is nature’s way of slowing population growth? Because in that case, it’s not at all a bad thing for us humans. Unless, of course, you’d like to offer your own dick up instead?
Wrong.
Meant to say ONE of the only. Forgot bout the stupid bonobos.
God I hate those monkeys.
and also bout other apes, Black swans, Gulls, Mallards, Penguins, Vultures, American Bisons, Elephants, Giraffes, Japanese macaque, Lions, Polecat, Sheep, Spotted Hyena, Lizards, Dragonflies, Fruit flies and Bed bugs.
I haven’t been thread in a while…
danielsangeo: Citation needed. Sounds like a very “edited” (read: doctored) second or third hand source.
Well, even if half of those are true (and I honestly wouldn’t doubt it) I was associating the fact that homosexual is present in other intelligent beings.
