If the CPU and RAM are decent it would probably be more powerful than both the Xbone and PS4.
R9 270 is more powerful than the GPU in either console, going by the specifications.

GDDR5 RAM for the whole system is the only the PS4 has an edge on in comparison to PCs right now. At least until DDR4 comes out.
I haven’t been this excited for a console since the PS2, which still isn’t saying all that much ^^ I want this!
I would not qualify it as a console. More like a console PC hybrid… a personal compusole!
If you define “console” as a device that connects to a TV and lets you play videogames through a controller, yes it is.
Just because it isn’t only a console, doesn’t mean it isn’t one at all.
I think we should stop debating the naming if it’s a console or a PC.
The lines are blurring between the two, which is why both words are accurate.
that’s pretty much what i meant
A prototype for the design of the box itself? Apparently, that green light is customizable and can be any color you want.
not bad, simple yet elegant
Xbox and PS seem to lack the latter
I’d say the PS4 is pretty damn elegant. At least compared to the Xbone.
They all look like fucking boxes except this one is white and the ps4 is slanted. What are you guys talking about?
good point
I think the inset with the color band looks really unattractive. It should be flush with the rest of the box. Also white seems like a poor choice, especially seeing as the controller only comes in black. Hopefully they offer more colors.
This was my first thought but I figured it wasn’t that important. Now that I think about it, it seems even weirder as hardly any other electronics are white so it’ll stick out like sore thumb in an entertainment center.
That’s often a good thing. Makes people wonder what that bright white glowing box is next to your TV without assuming it’s a DVD player or something.
I honestly can’t think of any shape other than a box or rectangle that would look good, particularly in a cabinet.
I suppose something with a curved shape might be neat, but would probably also be a lot harder to engineer and possibly more expensive to manufacture.
Remember, it’s a prototype (don’t let it overcharge) so the white might not be final.
In fact, I think that photo is just a render. It doesn’t look quite right.
Err, no one said it was a photo.
You said prototype; that implies it’s a physical test model.
