Starcraft II

why in the name of fuck is Battle.net SEVEN GIGABYTES???

edit: before you ask why i care, its because its download-only (couldn’t fit it on the CD?) and i have a slow connection

seriously, its a networking front-end and it’s almost 2/3rds the size of the actual game? is the entire UI composed of uncompressed TIFF images?

don’t forget uncompressed background music and click sounds for it…

It runs on CryEngine 2.

on a different subject, i get huge amounts of speaker noise when I’m playing starcraft II. the game audio is fine, but there’s a constant background static. this only happens when im playing starcraft II. game’s fun, though.

If anyone wants to add me, I’m Neverus.356.

I enjoyed single-player. I’m shootin’ for the Kerrigan icon by playing on Brutal.

OH FUCK THEY’RE INFESTING YOU RUN GET OUT OF THERE!!!

weird, never had that happen

lol

Also the only portrait I’ve unlocked is the adjutant, and that was pretty dang hard for me (mainly just the last achievement, “The Best Defense”), so it looks doubtful I’ll get many more. I just look at all these “Beat 750/1000 games as Terran/Zerg/Protoss” portraits and weep.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the benefit of playing through SC2, but from what I know of the cryptic ending of the original…

The Zerg aren’t masterminding this. Kerrigan is the Swarm, and if you played Zeratul’s secret mission you get major hints that the one weird guy in the background of Brood War is soon going to screw over EVERYONE - Terrans, Zerg, AND Protoss.

People are saying the story’s bad, but I like the story. I guess I’m just mentally retarded.

Like swampfox?..

Diablo 3? Diablo 2? Diablo? Are you a complete lame, complete noob, or complete idiot? (Partial idiot counts too don't flame). Who wants to waste their time pretending they are fighting hell demons? A game where the difficulty stays the same if you keep logging endless hours of leveling up? Sounds like 2nd grade shit..I know, cause I got over lame games when I was in 2nd grade.

ofc is bad as fuck,
Zeratul- lololol i can see the future with magic lolol

Sarah Kerrigan - im the chosen one, only i can save the universe !!!

Swann - wtf a dwarf in my sc2 ? why ?

Arcturus Mengsk - he is teh devil for no reason at all, eats children shits evil just so you can have the “bad guy”

Tychus Findlay - guys is in more missions than jim, he has half the cg animations for him, pretty much main character next to jim. Also his big betrayal gets hyped up from opening cinematic thorough the whole game, and what ? It never happens, did they forgot about it when making the game, or just run out of funds to do it ? He dies in last 5 s of ending cinematic for no reason O_o This alone makes the plot look like shit.

Matt Horner - he is just useless, he gets cut out of game like 5 misisonns before the end and is never heard of again.

Gabriel Tosh - wtf was the deal with this hippie ?

Prince Valerian - only interesting character, but he shows up at the end of the game O_o

Dr. Ariel Hanson - a filler character, as useless as tosh

Duran - wants to destroy the whole universe by creating hybrids for lulz

And then we got the plot of the whole campaign, we start it of by trying to overthrown mengs, but for some reson this idea is dropped in middle of the game. Kerrigan who is a zerg hitler when she is not busy murderig bilions of humans turns human so we can have a happy ending and a love iterest, not to mention the 10 filler missions in with dr Aril and Tosh, that dont move the story in any direction and break the pacing in every way possible.

The problem with the whole story is pretty obvious, it was written as a 7-8 mission campain, that was extended to a full 26 mission game without any changes in the script so they can cash in more on the game, its just lazy and bad writing made worse by tiring to sell you teh game 3 times.

On other hand a lot of ppl loved the transformers movies, so i bet a lot of ppl will love this story.

I got SC2 yesterday and I really like it. The singleplayer mode is all I care for (campaign and skirmish) since I don’t like playing online.

The fact that you can always download the client after you’ve entered your serial is something I like, just like with certain games on STEAM.

I just hope that when the other games come out that they’ll be expansion packs that aren’t priced at $60.

Sounds like Diablo killed your family and raped your dog or something. Simmer down there.

You have no way of saying how DIII will play since little information is known about the game thus far and the fucking game isn’t even out yet. Don’t make judgements about products before you’ve played them, it just makes you look like an idiot.

It sounds cooler than pretending to command spaze mehrines around.

I can’t really make comments on Diablo, having never played it, but if Torchlight is any indication then I’m not interested whatsoever. Just seems like a lot of clicking till everything’s dead.

is it just me or is “normal difficulty” campaign a million times easier than multiplayer?

StarCraft II is the shit. Everyone who whinged/still whinges about it being only 1/3 of a game needs to play it. It is one of the most polished games I have ever played. The DRM is amazingly good (requires one-time activation on internet and that’s it). Has a fantastically presented story that, although simple, is incredibly enjoyable (in the same way cheesy 80’s action flicks are). The story is, by the way, phenomal both in terms of narrative and presentation compared to most games in the RTS genre. The gameplay is fast and frantic, although the game does an incredible job of easing you into the gameplay throughout the campaign. The multiplayer works without a hitch, Battle.net 2.0 is fast, fluid and allows me to easily play fast-paced multiplayer matches. The game is SO balanced that it will actually blow you away.

Phew That’s about half of what is good in this game. BUY IT!!!

I’m aware the Zerg aren’t masterminding this, I’m just trying to point out that logically it makes sense from what we already know that a hybrid of that kind would exist.

I totally forgot about the secret mission, I really need to replay Starcraft I. I only have the general story memorized and thus am probably forgetting a lot of crucial details.
