Double that on the riddick health system. I’d love for that to be in a multiplayer ga–well I guess Halo: Reach kinda counts. It wasn’t bad there either so it could be really cool here. As for iron sights, I’d honestly love em. Mostly because the sights on star wars guns look fucking cool.
Blacklight: Retribution also has a rather neat system where your health quickly regenerates a few moments after taking damage, but only up to 50%.
I love that stuff.
I gotta find my Battlefront 2 dvd
Sounds like Mass Effect 3 to me - third person, aim mode, health that regenerates a bit but not fully. I would be down with that, I love that game already. It was always a bit of a stand-in for a really good Star Wars game in my mind anyhow.
Something I liked about the maps in Battlefront- there was no cover. There wasn’t even a cover mehcanic. You just had to dodge bullets and roll around hoping to land behind a corner for a few seconds while you got more gun food.
I think a magnetic hide-behind-halfwall system would really slow the game down. Gotta have those 300 v 300 battles that last 10-20 minutes but still make them feel like an hour
Plus all the slow plasma-y projectiles made cover a bit less of a necessity.
Also bad news. Battlefront is being developed by Dice LA AKA Danger Close AKAKA devs of Medal Of Honor: Warfighter.
Holy fucking shit.
Well, the good side is that they did LOTR battle for Middle Earth which was [COLOR=‘DimGray’]a Battlefront clone. Imo, a pretty good one despite some OP classes that can be just as much the fault of the lore as the devs.
edit: got confused
I thought BFME was an RTS?
BF is a fairly RTS-like game, particularly the galactic conquest gamemode.
galactic conquest on the original battlefront was an afternoon and a half of maximum entertainment
You’re right. I was thinking about something completely different :s
If they load it with a bunch of fuckin chest high walls I’m going to be severely annoyed.
NEXT GEN COVER SYSTEM
I would like to see RO2 cover system in BF if they decide to put one in…
What a horrifying idea. Current FPS games are too riddled with use of the cover system, it’s good in its place, but I want variety, so devs really have to stop putting these stupid “innovations” in places they don’t belong. IE SWBFIII. It was an arcadey sc-fi shooter, it doesn’t need all this shit realism jamming up the fun.
Not to mention any cover system other than a crouch key is awkward and clunky to use.
they’ll probably do the multiplayer to where you can have custom classes instead of choosing from units
rapid fire E-11 with underbarrel rock-thrower + dual extended mags
I’d expect to see it like it is in BF3, which I absolutely would not complain about.
The only cover system I was ever okay with was crysis 2’s, because when you crouched behind something it was considered “entering” cover, and you could easily lean out. But I was still annoyed by the removal of player inputs for lean.
I don’t like when games make you “enter” cover, makes it feel a lot more artificial.
Nah, not really. I found it really unintrusive and I really liked the way the weapons actually responded to the environment. But in the end I would prefer if there was no cover system and that it stays true to the original gameplay.
As much as I don’t like Killzone all that much, it has my favorite FPS cover system. It’s like Crysis 2’s but not twitchy as fuck.
