Star Wars Battlefront 3 Speculations

After seeing some ep3 Speculations in many places (including here) I also found another video game which is heavily wanted by fans, with little development news: Star wars Battlefront 3

To start, here’s a good site on BF3’s info https://www.battlefront3.net/

Started on Pandemic developing the game (which unfortunately ea motherfuckers shut the company down) then handed over to free radical games (which is also shut down and brought by crytek to be crytek uk) then leads to Rebellion (which just developed a lame psp battlefront game) and leads us to here, the present.
Currently, after FU2 (Force unleashed 2) which is very disappointing, Lego SW3:the clone wars, the old republic, and the shit no battlefront at e3 2011, that leaves us with 3 chances of announcement this year :

  1. ComiCon 2011
  2. May 4th, star wars day, they say “all will be revealed” that day ( although probably just the bluray movies, but what’s the point of announcing something that is already announced to be released at September or sumthin’)
  3. VGA 2011 (FU2 was announced at VGA)
Or wait again next year, and the year after that…

One can only hope, may the force be with you battlefront 3!

Leaked Footage (not a Rick Roll)

Unfortunately I think any speculation just boils down to wishful thinking.

I think that’s the same as episode 3 nuff’ said

Well, we can be pretty sure that SOME Half-Life game will be coming out within the next 5 years, you can’t say the same about a Star Wars Battlefront III. Though I do desperately want SWBFIII. It’d rank higher on my list than HL3/EP3 and BF3. Doesn’t quite beat MW3 though, that’ll be too amazing to even compare it to other games.

This would be nice, but I can wait.

:mono:

I never understood everyone’s obsession with the battlefront games…

It was one of the best Star Wars games out there. I rate #2 only next to Republic Commando.

And they cancelled Imperial commando, damnit

Yeah, Republic Commando was the fucking shit. I have the little team of 4 as action figures on my PC table right here - obviously among other collectibles.

Battlefront was fun because it was very well dressed in the competitive sense. Space battles rocked, classes were awesome, and nothing beats multiplayer.

I think it’s worth mentioning that their was a fantastic Star Wars RTS: Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.

It’s not too flashy, but it’s got all the imperial walkers and battle droids to make everyone happy.

Also, I must mention that out of all RTSs that I have played, this game has some of the greatest base management and economy collecting in any game that I have played.

Galactic Battlegrounds is a must have for all SW fans and RTS gamers but it still can’t beat SW Rebellion :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember that game, it was pretty fun. Although it played a lot like Age of Empires iirc.

Oh man I am totally reinstalling that now.

God, Force Unleashed doesn’t deserve a sequel

Yeah, it’s too much flash and not enough spirit.

How could I forget to mention the GREATEST Star Wars game of all time?!

But thats not Republic Commando. I don’t understand…

the first SWKOTOR was so amazing. But Republic commando wins for sure!

As put by Yahtzee “Putting the label Star Wars actually reduces sales…”
I think George Lucas is just grinding more money out of fanboys, and I KNOW that is not the first time someone said that.

KotOR is amazing. Forgetting that Dragon Age exists for a moment, BioWare can pretty much do no wrong.

KotOR II, on the other hand, is a fucking disgrace to its predecessor.

On topic, Battlefront 3 is a much welcome addition to the Battlefront world in my opinion. Battlefront is one of my favorite all-time games, and while II wasn’t bad, it didn’t feel like much more than a map/class pack to me (although the addition of space battles was amazing).

I wouldn’t say it’s better than Republic Commando, but it was very good for an old FPS and has a more memorable place in my heart as far as Star Wars goes.

I, personally, think that it is the only game that captures the mood of the original series and doesn’t add anything that reminds me of the prequels.
