Something Soon

This is an excerpt from a brief conversation I had with Nathan “NateDGreat” Ayres. He invited me to post this to the forums, so here ya go.

He’s referring to his post about spaghetti o’s in this…

Discuss.

Lead developers always have trick up their sleeve B)

LET THE SPECULATION COMMENCE.

That’s nice to know but I will feel sorry for those who wake up at the end of 2010 and find that the mod isn’t out (if it isn’t  )and their spaghettios have gone off.

People who read too deep into comments made by the development team only have themselves to blame, accept everything with a grain of salt.

Well here are the options Nate brought us:

Will it be a mod release?
Another trailer?
A media release?
A Twitter update?
A new release date?
Raminator changing his avatar?
Or just an announcement saying “oh hai believe it or not we’re still alive”?

Well if we remove the avatar one (for the silliness factor), the trailer one (since that goes with media release), the release date one (since they’ve said countless times that they will not make that mistake again), and the twitter one (since we’ll categorize that with the announcement one) we have this left:

Will it be a mod release?
A media release?
Or just an announcement?

They’ve also said numerous times that there will be no new media releases this late in development. So… it’s either just an announcement or the mod release.

Nate also mentioned late 2010 or early 2011, however in the end he says “But an end of 2010 update… you can be sure will happen.”

He specifically mentions 2010 here, as well as the word “update.”

That would count as an announcement, leaving only the mod’s release as the last viable option for what he meant would happen by the end of 2010 / very early 2011.

So, to wrap things up, (based on my speculation) we will receive an update towards the end of 2010 followed by the release in early 2011.

This is all just speculation as per JamesKane’s post.

BM Dev team: trolling people hard since 2004.

What I get from this is that regardless of what happens, some kind of announcement will be made by the end of the year.

Well I’m sure that “something” will be 100 times more epic then the trailer of the movie 2012. That’s for sure. [COLOR=‘Black’]3 hour long movie with Ram eating a banana.

However Dillxn’s speculation sounds reasonable.

O_o

D:

:awesome:

this is just to remove attention from THE SECRET RELEASE TOMORROWw

Dec. 31 - Announce that the mod is dead
Jan. 1 - Secret surprise release
Jan. 2 - ???
Jan. 3 - Profit

fix’d

So what do we know:

  • There will be a build-up before the release, let’s say 2 to 3 weeks to rebuild the hype for everyone to see.
  • There will be definitely be silence until end of 2010/early 2011

So we will definitely NOT need to expect the mod to be released before the end of january/february 2011.

Raminator changing his avatar? GREAT!

ninja ninja edited …

And i assume the build up will start with a real official post/website change, otherwise no-one, except us forum-guys would notice, which would render the build-up a little useless (we aren’t the ones that need to be hyped, we already are  )
It needs to be huge so gaming websites pick it up.

I’m excited.

The gaming websites will pick it up regardless of whether it’s plastered on the front page, on MODDB, YouTube or wherever else or not.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT OMG I AM SO EMOTIONALLY BLOCKED THAT I FORGET HOW TO WRITE NORMAL AGAIN!!! AND THAT HOT NICO ROBIN SIGNATURE IS MAKING ME EVEN MORE CONFUSED!
I have something planned for this. It will be a signature update I think it will make some people happy.

Yes, i know, i was simply saying that this news can’t be the start of THE build-up yet, since there will be silence until end 2010/early 2011

You guys sure take your damn time to make this mod. After all those broken promises you still can’t ensure the mod will release before 2010. :expressionless: Well… It’ll probably be mid 2011 for sure and that’s even without the multi player and we can of course forget about co-op… I just hope it’s worth the wait ::meh: We Dutch know an expression for these things: ‘‘te veel hooi op je vork nemen’’. Figure out what it means.
