To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if the governments will become effective at stopping piracy within ±10 years.
I’ve skimmed over every post. To sum up what I saw, it was somthing like “baaaaawww i dun hav n0 m0n13z baaaaaawwww i blew my a110w3nc3 0n d1ld0s f0r ma a55 i n33d 2 pl8 g4m3z baaaaaaawwww!!!111!!!111!”

2019 / 1999 ?
Oh wow.
With that I meant more or less
Around 2020.
What I see is someone who feels the need to push his beliefs on others. There is a word for that… but I forget it…
im going to fight and fuck all of the money. game stealing gangta
I doubt it. Clever programmers will also find ways to outsmart them, as the government constantly tries to outsmart them.
Wow, you’re really making an effective point. Here you go, I did this in your honor.
I understand, but these aren’t little kids stealing candy we’re talking about. Plus, Piracy is negatively affecting the industry. Every publisher now is afraid to develope games for the PC, or make big budget PC exclusives out of fear of piracy.
And thus, you have once PC gaming giants like Epic jumping over to consoles, and companies like Valve and Bioware that are now making their games multiplatform (luckily, Valve and Bioware still remember who made them famous. Epic, not so much.)
You pirated fucking Portal?
That’s it, you have no soul.
nothing wrong with consoles mate
Oh of course, the only reason a company could be developing for more than one platform is piracy. Nothing like being available to more people or anything. You realize you can pirate games for consoles and companies are well aware of this, right?
Well ofcourse there will still be a core group of piraters, but I think the government will be able to extremely limit the possibility of the average user to pirate things without being caught. The internet is a very new phenomenon, when governments get better grip and rule systems on it, they can be very effective.
You could compare it to the actual pirates going around the open sees years ago, without governments having a grip on it, they could do pretty much everything they want. But nowadays they can only survive in waters with ineffective governments around it.
I pirate stuff.Bulgaria has awesome internet(100mpbs to all the country for less than 15$ a month) and the goverment is not caring much about it.But the salaries are really low and people have much important things to do than play games.I buy games if they are really awesome and my friends play them.
Meh, piracy is possible on consoles too. Just harder. And you have to buy a modchip. Oh and I actually do feel that making money off piracy (e.g selling modchips) is COMPLETELY inexcusable.
most of the pirates were employed by governemnts to steal from their enemies
I know. I love consoles.
Nah, I actually have a physical copy of portal. You’re just retarded and I like to fuck with you.
You can’t play online with a modded console. And if you do…

You’re right. I should of known you bought Portal since that post is obviously a list of your Steam games. That, or I can read minds over the internet.
Thing is, when comparing this to ACTUAL pirates, they were vastly outnumbered. The countries had entire fleets of warships.
But today, when it comes to piracy, it is us who outnumber the government.
There are so many people that download illegaly. Even if the government outsmarts some of us, someone will come up with a new system that’s accesable to everyone again.
Until of course the world becomes a police state, and we get killed for making a supsicious expression.
Johnkiller: So? You can’t play pirated games online either. You can’t play World of Warcraft illegally expect on lame private servers. You can’t play Modern Warfare 2 online illegally, only on lame homemade dedicated servers, where you can defy gravity and shoot 5 grenades per second with unlimited ammo. No thank you.
