So Mininova is Dead ?

To be fair, now he’s not retarded. He even makes a very valid point, I just happen not to agree with him.

Just sayin’.

XBL piracy is retarded. Turn off your modchip for online ffs.

True, but I still think they will get a lot of grip on the piracy. But we will see.

Thank you! Now I have more scum to be pissed off at!

Honestly, why does it bother you what other people do? That’s such a stupid thing to get mad about.

Compared to a PC,consoles are USELESS.

People who pirate games aren’t scum. They’re people who differ in opinion to you. Even the people who make the cracks, most of them make it for the technical challenge and for fun, and not for any kind of personal gain.

i am actually scum fyi

You’re right. Breaking Microsoft’s Terms of Use (and the law) is completely fine as long as you have a different opinion from it, and having fun.
And you’re also right on how it’s not a personal gain to get games for free. No, it’s all just for fun!

[/sarcasm]

Once again, this is fucking Kindergarten stuff!

To sum up this thread:

bet u love fucking kindergarten stuff…

Edited

Hahahaha Microsoft of all corporations? THEY’RE the criminals.

You’re right. We should just bend over and quietly take more anal rape from microsoft.

I think JohnKiller118 you should stop being so one minded, sit down and take in the points that have been made in this topic, pirating if anything benefits the industry. Dan Bull can explain it better

  • Put music back in the hands of the people; make the majors and amateurs equal. If anything labels strangle the freedom you claim they’re saving by banning this evil. That’s the actual reason, you see; and please don’t compare sharing to stealing - I’ve not took anything off you, I’m just spreading love for what you do.

  • And I don’t mean any offence or anything, Lily. I just don’t think the issue’s as clear cut as you’re making out. And I know you’re going to carry on making music really. But when you’re between the devil and the deep blue sea, you need to stop worrying about pirates, and adjust your sails

Basically anytime you buy any electronics you are funding the most deadly conflict in the world via coltan from the congo sso whatever., f the world

Sorry, quoting an older post, but as far as your point of stealing, you are correct, but I believe you are incorrect as far as it relates to your previous point of companies losing money. Daed. makes a good point. If you never planned on buying it, then the company really DOESN’T lose any money. I think that’s a valid point.

I think that this point can be kinda sketchy as far as people who pirate relatively new games simply to avoid paying for them. But I think when it comes to older games it isn’t really a big deal. I mean, let’s say I torrented Homeworld. Sierra was absorbed by Activision a while ago, if I’m not mistaken. (Which I might be) I’m pretty sure they aren’t going to be concerned about someone torrenting a game no longer in production. Just my personal opinion

And you have every right to steal from them since they obviously suck, right?

Like I said, read reviews, watch gameplay videos, MAKE WISER PURCHASING DECISIONS!
It’s your called consumer rights, and nowhere does it say you can you have the right to steal if you don’t have the money.

But pirating a game obviously means you want to play it. And in a capitalist society where money is God, it’s either pay up or fuck off.

Developers don’t make games for your enjoyment. That’s only for PR purposes. They get in the industry to make money. No exceptions (not even our precious Valve Software.) But they make money by making awesome games for us to BUY, so we can PLAY said games for our personal enjoyment.
That’s how the world works kids. Either grow up and live a life of an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay, or fuck off.

At this point I believe John has the stronger argument. You really can’t justify a wrong for a wrong. That’s bad form. This logic is why people are shot over menial incidents such as “But he did (x, y, z), therefore I have the right to do (blankity blank blank).” At this point I believe I will agree with John.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
