:pirate: … be-careful where you steer this ship as you don’t want this perty boot to sink…

It’s true, also I hear TPB is sinking too.

Darth vader: NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

so that means ,we’re gonna have a really hard time finding good torrents ? goddamn it !

Or just get a job and BUY your games. Brilliant concept, right?

No good pirating pussies. YOU’RE the reason why the industry doesn’t “respect” PC gamers anymore!

Just use google for good torrents, never failed me.

or torrentz.com

Also, JohnKiller, games aren’t the only things you can download you know :meh:

You do know it is sometimes almost impossible to get some of the old games right?

'Sides, I don’t want to shell out for a game if I’m just gonna use a mod on it

eg. I arr’ed a certain game so that I could run a certain huge, epic, recently released singleplayer mod on it. I’ve never played the original and probably never will, but I play the mod, is that really so bad?

Seriously, piracy shouldn’t even be an option! You guys see it as somthing you do every day! Fucking disgusting!

Also, what game are you going to use to run a mod? If that mod you want to run is “Black Mesa”, then fuck off!

:’(

Damn dude, loosen up.

I often download some stuff with torrent sites, because sadly money doesn’t grow on trees. When there’s a game I’m not sure I would like, and there’s no demo, I’ll download it. If it’s good, I’ll buy the sequel.

But games I KNOW will be awesome, I buy. You won’t find an illegal copy of Half-Life on my pc. Shit’s legit.

Oh, and maybe, just maybe if Steam wasn’t so damn expensive I’d buy more games.
Why the hell is Modern Warfare 2 60 euros on Steam and 50 in a store?

That’s not how it fucking works!

God you people are so dense! “Money doesn’t grow on trees”, then too bad! Read reviews, watch gameplay videos! Make wiser purchasing decisions.

Piracy is stealing. Stealing is against the law, period.
Honestly, this is kindergarten stuff.

Developers don’t make games only to have them stolen by cheap asses like you.

“I often download some stuff with torrent sites, because sadly money doesn’t grow on trees.”

Thank you for saying that! Now, i’ll just go and steal that car i’ve always wanted!

Buy it?? I can’t! Money doesn’t grow on trees! So whats the alternative??

Save?

Or free alternatives.

It would have helped if you had actually Quoted someone…

Quoted for truth.

So I guess this just narrows it down to ISOHunt and BtJunkie now.

Oh well, they have been leagues better then Mininova in the last year or so.

I’ve bought enough games not to be called a cheapass, thank you. My gaming equipement and games reach in well over 4000 euros. I’ll buy the damn game if I think it deserves it.
And reading reviews and watching videos well never give you the same experience actually playing does. I can’t judge just from what some critique has to say about it. And I can’t feel how a game plays just by watching a video.

Oh, and this IS how it works. I’m doing it right? Millions of others do it right? As far as I’m concerned that’s more than enough.

And with games I’m still not that bad really. I don’t very often download games, takes too long anyway. I do download alot of music and movies, because I really don’t care that Lars Ulrich can’t have a golden bar by his pool. (And yes, that’s a South Park reference)

And you should realise this: If I downloaded a game that I like, I’ll recommend it to other people, I’ll post something about on something like a DeviantArt blog or whatever. They’ll get there.

shame about minivoa, but theirs many more so not to fussed

i dont really see piracy as stealing, I see it more as borrowing, most the things I’ve downloaded if I have enjoyed as I soon as I find the cash I go out and buy it. Take Black Mesa for example alot of hard work has gone in to it, yet their releasing it for free. I have a firm belief that everything tv, film, music and games should be available, for free, to everyone, so you can share what you have created with the world and for the world to enjoy it back, and if its good enough people will no doubt go out and buy it anyway to show their support, or the merch, or to see it live (Again Black Mesa is another example, the amount of locked topics I’ve seen of people wanting to give the BM team money). Piracy isn’t a big deal, be it for the small miniorty who go out and sell it, now thats criminal. We need more services like Spotify, maybe a game one where you can play games for free but have adverts after so many checkpoints. Paying for something you don’t know you’re going to enjoy that’s wasting money in my oppionon

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
