So Mininova is Dead ?

I agree with you Codgin.

I like what Radiohead did a while ago with an album release. You could decide yourself how much you wanted to pay for the download, and you got also choose not to pay at all.

Make music because you want people to hear your creativity, not because you want to make money.

If I like something enough I’ll be glad to contribute to it’s succes.

I haven’t touched a torrent in 3 years.

Think we should start a support group for torrent addicts…

Demonoid has been down forever. It’s fucking killing me, I hate the pirate bay.

I advise anyone using torrents to take caution especially if you have an ISP notorious for monitoring such traffic…

While we’re on the piracy argument…why do people think pirated games equate to lost sales? In most (if not) all cases people who download a copy wouldn’t have even considered buying it anyway. And in some cases people download games and like them enough to go out and buy them to get other features (like working multiplay or something).

Not that I advocate pirating games; game developers everywhere depend on sales of games to make a living. Studios should focus on giving people reasons to obtain their software legitimately, though, and not burden consumers with bogus DRM and copy-protection like Securom (which probably leads to more people cracking and pirating such games, if only out of spite).

My uni blocks all sources of piracy. If they hadn’t though, I would’ve torrented the PC version of MW2, since I was getting it for Christmas.

I’ll buy games if torrents don’t work for it after a week. It’s really the only reason I bought l4d2, but it was worth it.

I only use BtJunkie and private trackers so I can’t really say I care.

Oh yes. A couple of months ago I received an e-mail from my ISP telling me that I’ve downloaded Crank 2 and that Lionsgate could sue me if they heard about it.

I mostly download music and movies/series if I can’t buy it here.
Some underground bands are just not avaliable here and I simply don’t have room for all them DVD bawkses.

Meh. Piracy angers me because it’s unfair, if I could just get stuff for free, why bother paying for it at all?

Plus if everyone pirated, the company guys wouldn’t get their money, and then, why bother making stuff at all?

I do get it when people ‘pirate’ stuff that isn’t available for them because it’s either very old, banned in their region or whatever. But that’s really something else in my opinion.

This, essentially!

Oh shut up about companies losing ~*OH SO MUCH MONEY. Like it’s been said, if Im going to pirate a game, I never intended to buy it anyway. They aren’t losing a dime. Plus, enough people who don’t even know how to download games buy them. I’m not exactly worried about valve going belly up just because I downloaded a game I was never going to buy in the first place.

i reckon ive torrented less games since steam made buying sshit so quick and easy but with music id rather steal it all and go to their show if i like it. that way the artist gets payed and layed but less cash for shitty music industry guys

It’s about principle… why the hell do you download it anyway if you don’t want to get it?

It’s not that I don’t want it, it’s that it’s retardedly overpriced in there’s no way in hell I’m going to pay for it.

Well, I for one make a point of never pirating indie games or music from less known bands. And since I mostly listen to Electro and the style isn’t very popular, I gotta buy it online.

pretty good raisin to never buy music from a major label:

the stuff the chart says not the album itself that owns
